If you replace "homosexuals" with "queers" you said exactly that, and "spaz" is also considered offensive in the US, though that's not incredibly well known unfortunately. Not knowing something is offensive is perfectly fine if you learn from the experience when someone informs you, it's okay to be wrong as long as you take a step back and don't get defensive about it. As others have stated, regardless of word choice, suggesting someone guess who is a part of the LGTBQ+ community and who isn't in a lineup as a "bit of fun" is very inappropriate for a number of reasons. Saying this as an additional learning opportunity and not an attack, if you'd like suggestions for informational sources about these topics I'd be happy to supply.

Hello Sara-Jayne I am not 90, thank you for asking, but I am old enough to remember when "gay" was considered the wrong word to use. Times and attitudes change. Homosexual is a scientific term. I'm not aware of any issue with using the word homosexual in the UK, where I am from, and wouldn't have an issue if someone used that word to describe me. I didn't want to use the word lesbian because that only applies to females. I didn't say "Hey Mandy can you spot the queers!?", nobody did or anything similar to that so I'm not sure what you are getting at there. I've seen estimates that anywhere from 10% to 50% of people are homosexual (or gay if you prefer), even at the lower end, that's a pretty big community, if that is what you want to call it, so I don't think anyone can claim to speak for all of them/us. If homosexual is considered an offensive term where you live, I'm actually very interested in that. The difference between American and British English that Mandy Cane Lane's videos bring up fascinates me. In the UK, the word "spaz" would be considered offensive but I don't have an issue when Mandy Cane Lane or another American uses it (I think I've only heard her use it once) because it's part of American English and I like the way we all use different words.

In terms of the tasks, not the best episode they've had. But it was fun nonetheless. Your makeup was artistic. :) Not sure what you were going for, but it was cool. It enhanced some of your expressions, hehe. The way you said 'So fancy' at 18:00 was, to me, just a spot on perfect posh English kinda accent. I mean, you nailed it. I think they changed the seal because 8 is considered a lucky number in China and Japan, so they changed the font to look like Chinese characters. I think that also explains the background music.

Paul has talked quite openly about his time on Taskmaster. It was a few weeks after the first episode aired that a doctor gave him the diagnosis. He said that even during the filming of the studio segments (that obviously are filmed last), he didn't know he had parkinsons. But he could feel that something was wrong as he was struggiling to keep up with the discussion/banter and his brain just wasn't processing like it used to. Something positive did come out of his Taskmaster appearances as medical schools in New Zealand are using clips of him on Taskmaster to teach future doctors about spotting early stage Parkinsons symptoms. Paul seems really proud about that.
