I do find the Eldar quite fascinating, and they seem to have some great models, a nice balance of simplicity and flourish, would love to see your collection (and the Custodes you're working on) and definitely a top contender for my first Xenos pick, along with Orks and Necrons (I had a few Tomb Kings as a lad, painted awfully of course 😆). I really like the lore behind the Genestealer Cults but unfortunately not really a fan of many of their models except some of the vehicles they have. I would love to eventually feel confident enough to tackle one of the big beefy Chaos minions like Great Unclean One, Mortarion, etc.

Tbh, I find space marines a bit boring personally. Mainly from a hobbying perspective, so have tried to avoid them generally. I had a Dark Angel's army many years ago but sold that at some point and also have an old, fairly small Plague Marine force I started converting from imperial marines, also many years ago. But just recently bought the Leviathan box which had a bunch of Marines and have been picking up stuff from ebay for cheap, but don't know why, or what I'm going to do with them long term😆. My true love, since I started playing in the mid 90s has been Eldar. I have a HUGE Eldar collection but sadly most of my stuff is unpainted. I get more satisfaction out of sculpting and converting. I too am currently in the process of painting some Custodes for a friend. I never used to really like the models that much but after assembling and painting them, I've a new appreciation for them. I went with the emperors guard colour scheme rather than all gold and I really like that. If you're just getting into the painting side, I'd recommend checking out Wyrd. They make a game called Malifeux which has some fantastic models for painting and even release models of a slightly larger scale specifically for display. I'm actually pretty new to the painting aspect of the hobby! The past year or so I've been doing a deep dive into the lore, bought a bunch of the novels (holy crap there are so many), played some of the videogames, binge watched some youtube lore videos and fan animations like Astartes, Helsreach, etc. Painting is the next and most expensive step 😆 At the moment I don't plan on playing with them, just choosing my favourite models from each faction and having them on display. Starting out nice and simple with Space Marines and Custodes for now but looking forward to tackling the Xenos. How about you Steve, are you one of the Emperor's children?

I believe you are correct! Never realised. Most of my life in the states I lived on "the second floor" but it was really just one floor up. In Argentina we do have ground floors, we call them "planta baja". And then next floors up are counted as 1, 2, etc. I am not 100% sure on the 13th floor thing either in the US or in Argentina, but what I can tell you is that most hotels here don't have a room number 13. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ok just googled, no 13th floors in Argy either 😬

I feel like I should weigh in on the whole DnD thing. I think when it first started out, it was something that appealed to the non-jocks. An alternative to sports or other similar activities. If you didn't fit into the typical, trendy, 'hip' (hip, lol), or popular groups, then DnD might be for you! Obviously, it's something that has always appealed to the more creative types. You must have heard of Joe Manganiello's DnD group with all the famous people like , ok you'll have to Google it for more info, but Tom Morello is in it, also The Big Show, the wrestler, plus other famous actors and writers etc. They're all cool, creative people. Mangos wife Sofia Vergara? Had said how she didn't really get it at first, but when she saw them playing, she realised how similar it was to all the writing and acting and performing they all do, and then it made sense to her. There is also a little YouTube channel DnD show about a group of friends playing, called 'The Party' which was OK. Curious to see where they go with it for the second season if they do one. Back to Joe for a second, he was actually a rare crossover. He was both a talented athlete in high school, and was DM (dungeon master) for his nerdy friends. I think that's pretty cool. There is also an episode of the much beloved and breakthrough cult classic with so many famous actors that Miss Mandy will know and probably love even, in some cases, Freaks and Geeks, in which they play some DnD, and the school badboy comes along to play. In the show, Daniel, the character, loves it and has a ball. The actor, non other than, a young JAMES FRANCO! when he was first starting out, hated it 😂 was not a fan. I have played many different campaigns of many different rpgs and how good your experience is, is all about who you're playing with, and the experience and attitude of your DM. My favourite RPG was probably Vampire; the masquerade, where you get to be a vampire! I used to play DnD with a friend and his mum. She'd played since the 60s or 70s, and she used to cheat all the time😂. If you ever get the chance to get in on a game... so obviously you'd give it a go, you as much as said so yourself. I better stop now.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the blue light/bad sleep thing. You just made me think of Mr Nakamura (I think) who cracked the code to a billion dollar industry by creating the blue LED, and received a whopping $500 bonus for his troubles. I think he eventually went on to sue, but only got enough to cover his legal fees. Typical. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it here before. It might have been the 'ask permission or forgiveness' thing you brought up. His boss had wanted him to stop working on the project but he persevered anyway, and it paid off... for the company... not him. I'm sure forgiveness was forthcoming in this case.

My cousin did a Phd on how Blue light affects sleep, yeah we thought it was a wacky phd too 😀 There does seem to be a connection between S cone stimulation (Blues) and the circadian system (our internal 24 hour clock) - so here's another un-sourced, unverified, unclear claim: blue light during the night can hinder sleep. Phone and laptop manufacturers certainly seem to be taking it seriously because they have settings to make the screen appear more orange during night hours, to reduce your blue light exposure 😎

I do remember some color theory related to rods and cones in the retina - we're more sensitive to varying degrees of Red than we are to Green than we are to Blue. I've had to corroborate via wiki, it's because the vast majority of cones detect the Long wavelength or Red colors, only a third of the cones detect Medium wavelength or the Greens, and a mere 2% of the cones detect Short wavelength aka the Blues. So evolution has regarded the blues as less useful than the greens which are less useful than the reds 🌈

It's so much more sophisticated nowadays. The painting that is. I do paint them, but I prefer the sculpting and converting etc. I'm painting some for a friend atm, was going to just do a basic quick paint job to get them ready for the tabletop but my perfectionism won't let me! You sculpted them? Cool! What materials did you use? Were they a couple of inches tiny or larger than that with more detail? The store bought models were small but dunno how they manage to make them so detailed at the same time! My best painting effort was of a snotling 😆 one of the smallest models, i was a total amateur but managed a competent blended shading on its shoulder pads. HowTo info was scarce in the days before the internet! It was more a case of trying to mimic the results of impressively painted models 🤔

I would be very wary of articles that make strong claims without quoting their sources. A quick google shows there is already extensive sleep related research that has specifically investigated differences in male and female sleep patterns. Scientists know men and women have physiological differences, so know to include both male and female subjects in their studies. My entirely layman's view is that you are unwell, therefore your body needs rest to help it recover, and people making a racket with power tools and hammers are not helping you get that rest...

Honestly Steve life changing, takes about 2 weeks for your body to adjust , but when it does man its like night and day. Ive read loads about it, basically your body is designed to function in 2 ways , either burning calories carbs sugars etc for energy, or burning fat , Going on Keto just switches your metabolism to burning fat, so you can have loads of fatty foods, you body just functions so much better. And also a bonus you become ripped, not an ounce of fat on you, as your body burns it all off for energy hahah

If your sleeping so much like that, u should change your diet, have less carbs , im pretty much in full Keto , ive never had so much energy , and my sleep is amazing. Carbs in your diet will make you sleepy, up and down etc , Glucose crashes wanting to sleep mid afternoon constantly needing carbs for energy. None of that with Keto.

I haven't watched the video yet but it occurs to me that Americans don't have a ground floor on their buildings, they count the ground level floor as the first floor whereas where I live, the ground level floor is called ground and the next floor up is the first floor. Correct me if I am wrong. In a recent holiday (or vacation as an American would say) related anecdote, you mentioned 'the ground floor', I thought it was odd at the time but couldn't put my finger on why. Have I discovered a flaw in the matrix or do you have ground floors in Argentina too? What about 13th floors? It's my understanding that Americans don't believe in them either. Is that right? There are a lot of Dungeons & Dragons games online with random people. The downside is that they're random people and could be awful. Online is also never as good as getting around a table in real life. The basic rules are free, so really you just need two or three other people willing to try it.
