Microfiche is the newspaper archive thing you're thinking of and they no longer exist as far as I'm aware. Not in that format at least, but internet news archives are also pretty limited. I will never again find the local newspaper article citing a judge telling a man, caught by two Japanese tourists, chasing sheep with no trousers on, "to get a grip on himself". Fucking hilarious. He was also German. And that town had never before had any Japanese tourists. I really might think I was making it up except the guy got called sheepy by everyone in the town after that. Felt a bit sorry for his wife.

You remember I mentioned this exact thing a few weeks ago. How Latin languages can be understood by one another. Germanic languages too, apparently a swede can understand a danish and some Norwegian and vice versa. Polish, Ukrainians and Russians can to a degree understand each other, tho russian is a bit harder. Most of Europe speaks English as an international language that's taught in schools. Switzerland, Netherlands and Belgium share mostly french and German. I know a bit of french and a few phrases in polish but my limit ends there. Another great reaction, you were absolutely vibin to this one, you head was dancing around all over hahha.

I have to add some vital information! You said drowning in the desert would be just as weird as the fire at seaworld, but genuinely, you are more likely to die from drowning in the desert than dying from dehydration. Because most people plan properly to have water, but they don't properly plan for flash floods, which regularly kill people in the desert!

Hey Mandy! I totally forgot about this episode, and what made me laugh early was Linda's "virtual triathlon", which seemed ridiculous then but I'm actually doing almost exactly that right now in the form of the Conqueror Challenges. It tracks your steps (via fitness tracker) as distance achieved. They plant trees and pick up beach litter as you hit certain milestones, and you get a real medal at the end. Yes, it has an Android/iPhone app, and yes it uses Google maps! I'm on the London challenge at the moment. In Greenwich Park as I write this. (Though since I live only a few miles from Greenwich Park anyway, it doesn't seem quite as outlandishly comical). And in the late 90s, I had a girlfriend who used to keep her phone in a top pocket, and yes, incredibly, she did exactly this - it fell into the toilet of our local pub as she flushed (no, I can't see why she had to bend over that much either, she was not a tall woman). Amazingly for a nineties phone, it actually flushed. Then believe it or not, she got a new one and about a month later, did exactly the same thing in exactly the same toilet! 😑 And yes, I completely agree with you about Madonna. I quite enjoy her earlier work, in the beforetimes, the pre-Mandy era of the world when we had nothing to do but listen to good music and await your arrival. In fact, she is personally as iconic of the 80s as the likes of Michael Jackson. There I said it. But he had the decency to not only retire but die 15 years ago. Madonna just keeps making a fool of herself and ruining her legacy. Somebody needs to stop her! 😅
