I don’t go along with the criticism of this series at all, I thought it was great. There aren’t really any bad series of Taskmaster in my eyes. There maybe are a couple of series which aren’t quite as good as the others but you’ve already watched ‘em (S3 with Rob Beckett and Paul Chowdhry and S6 with Liza Tarbuck) and you’ve never not been entertained while watching it, right?

A suggestion just barely related to Taskmaster - if you would be interested whether for the YT or just random short vids on here like the QI clip from the other day (unsure on copyright status for the suggestion) - now that you're acquainted with Ed Gamble, he and James Acaster have maybe 6 videos on youtube of a series called "Just Puddings". They're around 10 mins each except the first is a bit shorter, it's basically just them going to different places and James eating a dessert and describing how it tastes to the diabetic Ed, very funny and showcases their dynamic really well. On top of those (not a suggestion due to the length, just extra contextual information), the two of them do a podcast together called "Off Menu", where they have a different comedian or celeb on each time to go through their dream meal, plus a bit of general chatting - also very funny to listen to, and have eps with a lot of people you are quite familiar with now, but unless you fancy adding another XFM length release to your schedule, probably not one to record (unless you fancied doing a special on a particular guest you were interested in hearing like Alex, Greg, Bob, etc). So the two of them are very food oriented people lol.

I recently saw an interview with Greg and Alex where they talk about the socks. Alex said there is a guy who makes them for the show and Greg said there is a guy whose job is to remind him to change to the new socks because they usually do 2 shows a day and Greg always forgets to change the socks. Couple of titbits relating to the start of the episode. A crumpet is basically a spongy soft bread that you toast. Also, Johnny used to do adverts for a tea bag called PG tips, where he had a toy monkey sidekick, called monkey, who makes an appearance on the second series of the uk office!
