Blackadder - S4 E2 - Corporal Punishment
🕑 Added 2024-11-14 13:00:15 +0000 UTCHands down has to be one of my favorite episodes yet!! I actually love all the characters! Except maybe... well... kinda not so much... erm... Blackadder... LOL. I mean yeah, his character is great, but he isn't as loveable as silly ol' Baldrick or ol' thicky. xD
Anyway, toodles!

"I don't look at names", hmm, sounds a bit like Karl not reading beyond the headlines

I will use that, cheers Stevus. π

I wouldnβt say the little mermaids brazier had to be water tight but it deffo had to be constricting because other wise sheβd keep floating up ππ

Great fun! Baldrick giving off manuel vibes.. i know nothing π€
Gray
Hugh Laurie's face as you said is so amazing gormless and his expressions always make me laugh. These last four upcoming episodes are fantastic too
.
It really was, this was from roughly the same era as Whose Line too. And they say superman's glasses disguise is rubbish... but all you need is a moustache ππ₯Έ

Woot woot π₯³

Thank you! I find this super interesting!! I am gathering pieces of information from several comments, but it is a fascinating workaround on their part!
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahaha! Well thank you very much DriveIn!! π₯Ίπ Being called a "natural performer" is one of my favorite compliments to recieve! π€
Mandy Cane Lane
HAHHAHAHA! I have questions, but I'd rather not ask π€£π€£
Mandy Cane Lane
I am a bit lost (naturally) but if this second epsiode was this fun, I am sure the rest will be awesome π€

Siblings can be a blessing and a curse all at the same time π
Mandy Cane Lane
Oh fascinating! Thank you Michelle π
Mandy Cane Lane
Haha, I do think that is a very American thing. Especially in the 70s/80s. Us poor folk with allergies, constant stuffy noses and asthma getting bullied for not being able to breathe π
Benjamin Taylor-Yates
Exciting!!!! Let me know if you get in. You gonna give a tour? ππ
Mandy Cane Lane
Oh and that firing squad stuff is really interesting. Quite the workaround they thought up
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahaha! Hey I am all here! Not all the time, but sometimes, eventually. Lol. Also..... perhapsly ππ€ͺ

"Was it foreshadowing again of man versus bee?" is just an iconic sentence π€ You're definitely a natural performer, when George said he wanted to "give Fritz a taste of our British spunk" you cycled through five different facial expressions in about two and a half seconds π
Mandy Cane Lane
OMG that KITana thing is adorable! It cracks me up how big of a fan of hers your are!! π€£π€£
Remi
π€£ if only you could spend a few days looking after her I promise you wouldn't be saying that, one example is I have to spoon or hand feed her literally everything not because she's sick but because she's to stupid to eat from a bowl
Mandy Cane Lane
Was it really Steven? I didn't recognise him this time! -- You are getting to know me very well, haha! Single Female Lawyer was awesome π€£π€£.
Mandy Cane Lane
*She is precious! π€
Remi
Yes thank you her name is Jess
Mandy Cane Lane
I for one do not. π Is that your husky Remi? He is a cutie!

Something random for Feisty. I had an idea for the thing you do with your channel. Not a fully formed idea, but I was thinking something along the lines of using the wedding scene from Holy Grail with Cleese slaughtering everyone (or a stiil from it), and labelling it as 'the original red wedding' (as in Game of Thrones) or something like that. There you go, that's free for you! You're welcome! π
Josh Read
Hahahahha no π€£ I meant is she sure she didn't imagine it. I'm not stupid enough to call Mandy empty headed π± Also that's a beautiful doggo there π
Remi
Are you trying to call her empty headed?π€£
.
Lastly, final-final-v3; FWIW nobody had noticed cause we only see you for who you are so don't worry about it. But happy to hear that you are pleased by it's clearing. Happy days, here comes the summer. π€
Remi
Ok we need to change the definition of sea burial to a sea submersion anyone here with the power to help that?
.
Lastly for reals, If you have 2 serial killer-killers in prison it is like a grandfather paradox or typing "why" in to google, it confuses the universe and it doesn't know what to do so it cancels itself out. Fact!!
.
Lastly the tall man in the firing squad. I believe that was the same man called Steven who was laughing at his book when Mr. Bean was on the train. He was also in Whose Line, a frame of reference you do have but alas you didn't notice. Now you have to rewatch Car Share as a forfeit.

I imagine that court rooms can't be fun places to be in for either party. I guess it must be a bit difficult to make scenes in them feel fun. But single Female Lawyer in Futurama was a fun court scene wasn't it? And that Rick and Morty short where they animated a court transcript? Rimmer was on trial a few different times in Red Dwarf too, theose were fun but you don't have a frame of reference for that yet. Something for you to look forward to perhaps, now that we've established that court scenes are your faves. There was a whole sitcom show in the 90s called Night Court which took place in a court room. But given the recent revelation of your aversion to things set in a minimal number of locations; I won't suggest for you to watch even though you enjoy court scenes so much now.

I think I downloaded the wrong Stephen King film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID4y5eebP5o Or did I? π

Must be licorice allsort time then. Also a favourite. I have congratulated Miss Mandy on her Slug balancing skills in the past, but she obviously had no idea what I was talking about.
Benjamin Taylor-Yates
!* There's many reasons for Mandy to be happy. π But to be this happy, something significant must have gone off. Am I to believe one has found herself a new home???? π€© Couple of others have touched on it, but, yes, a firing squad was a form of execution from centuries ago: wherein, a group of soldiers with rifles will be lined up to shoot the traitor. Each one is given a bullet, all of them are blanks except for one. The soldiers do not know which one is live. All men would aim for the same place on the body and fire at the same time - and the idea was it would absolve the men of guilt as they could not tell who actually killed their fellow soldier and guarantee the traitor was killed as a lone shooter could "miss" on purpose, or simply not bare it emotionally. Apropos the last thing you said: you're definitely gone. Went a loooooong time ago π€ͺπββοΈπ

On the topic of gaping maws, I've heard people who walk around with their mouths open like that refered to as "mouth-breathers". I feel like that's an American thing? I've also heard people ask, "...caught any flies yet?" when talking to a 'mouth-breather'. π I'm surprised Ricky never asked Karl that... or maybe he has! π€·ββοΈ
Danny
No, that's episode 4
Stevus
Next one 20mins? That one is one of my favourites. π It's great seeing Rik and Adrian together. Mandy hasn't watched any of their stuff yet.
Stevus
Not sure about the blanks, but it was definitely what you said, irreverend.
Z is for Zed
This, isn't it a thing that not everyone had live bullets?
Michelle Lyons
This is what a burial at sea entails - there's quite a history behind it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burial_at_sea

The mouth open like a 'thickie' look is called Gawping. Sparked a memory - when i was young a sister and mum drew eyes either side of the short spout on a hinged-lid steel teapot, they turned it upside down so the lid would flap down and named it after me. It worked tho, for years those eyes were still on it. Same sis also told me to stop walking around looking at the floor lol so i'm kinda grateful.
Danny
Next episode is one of my favourites, the rest of the remaining episodes are all really good π
James Aston
I have it on good authority that Ariel had ironically dry nipples

The reason for multiple shooters in a firing squad has something to do with no individual being culpable for murder, or feeling personally responsible, I think. It's something along those lines anyway

I get to enjoy this before work βΊοΈ we got 2 friends references today π€ great reaction as always Mandy. The next episode is awsome. Hopefully you will enjoy it too π are you sure the sound of the fly wasn't in your head?
