Haha, maybe they just keep them on the window ledge ๐คช
Krista
Haha we keep our potatoes in the bottom of the fridge in my family too, some keep it in the pantry but keeping it cold makes it last much longer and not sprout, we are both in hot and humid countries so it makes sense. Idk what cold country people do with their food haha, my fridge is warmer than their winter... Maybe even spring ๐
Mandy Cane Lane
Lol! Such a shame when they have a great idea for a show and the execution is lame, or it gets cancelled ๐ฅ
Podey Williams
Thanks for the clarification - full disclosure, I didnโt watch it. ๐
lemmy
I mean kinda the premise, it was that everyone blacked out and 'flash fowarded' forward in time and seen a small piece of their future. :D but yeah very forgettable and swiftly cancelled.
Podey Williams
Flash Forward was one of those โis this going to be the new Lost?โ shows that came out around the time it was ending and it had the guy who played Charlie in it. I donโt think it was very good (obviously, since you hadnโt heard of it!) and only lasted a few seasons. The premise was vaguely interesting, thoughโฆ it was something to do with everyone in the world blacking out for 2 mins 17 seconds at the same time and the quest to discover what happened in that time.
.
Touchรฉ I can relate to that for sure but It has never made my moral standards drop so low. It feels like they are writing two Jezs to me sometimes. Maybe Jez has just rubbed off on him over the years.
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahaha! That is hilarious! ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahaha! I am so scared for my keyboard and monitors! I drink way less than I want to ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
Lol! Insight? Yes! Justification? Nevaaaa!! Also yeah, my family's tradition is my brother and his family leaves so it is just my mom and one brother, we make sushi. Woop woop. Lol
Mandy Cane Lane
If they are two for one it is because nobody wants them even for themselves ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
Hmmm.... not sure I have seen enough to follow these ideas! I feel Mark has just been getting worse because of his resent for how his life isn't going as he would have hoped
Mandy Cane Lane
Thank you Nathan! ๐ค๐ธ
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahhaa! I say.... lie! Lol. Totally believable though, some traditions began with even sillier stories ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
Lol! Uhh... thanks guys? ๐ Also, I like turkey, cold and all ๐ค

๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐
Did you ever see the silly video I did of a few 'Mandyisms'?
Remi
I have a bank of Memories with a special file id stupid shit Mandy has said to bring up in the future
๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐
You have a good memory, I had completely forgotten about that video. Mandy, do more of them. ๐๐

https://youtu.be/Hw1OcOvV5eg?t=300&si=ZhfEYCKK-kvZhZaV This piece of Mandy gold, I've time stamped it to start at turkey
๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐
Yeah but everyone pronounces it Turkey lol. What's Mandy's emoji video?
Remi
Actually sir it's called Tรผrkiye ๐น๐ท but hilariously if you go to Mandy's emoji video she calls this (๐น๐ท๐) china key so who knows
๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐
I've never been there. ๐
Remi
One for food and one for fun
Remi
Anyone else think Turkey is fucking disgusting especially when it's cold?
(Just) Steve
- I have never heard of anyone keeping potatoes in the fridge! They should be kept in a cool and dark place. - Sprouts have little crosses put in the bottom because centuries ago it was thought that demons/evil spirits lived between the leaves (due to the bad smell when cooked and the farts after eating them producing more bad smells). Would I lie to you? ๐ค
Nathan
Dobby's real name is Debbie.

Mark has always been a prick
emu cat
A bit of 'feck-it' with the continuity, just watched an earlier episode where Mark was mocking Jez for 'probably thinking potatoes count as veg'. and here it's opposite. small point sure but i'd just watched it. Slight-recall on the tickety-boo from Mark's dad from when Jez was boinking Sarah. Always thought the 'tickety-boo' was shoe-horned in - in the original ep, Mark wasn't known for saying it.
.
This is where it starts to get a bit shite now to be honest ๐ almost every other line is just so forced and it all starts to feel transparent. IIRC this had been off air for a couple of years and then had a comeback and just tried way too hard for me. Why is Mark such a dickhead suddenly? Wasn't he going to relieve himself in someone's dinner recently? He was always a cock but was never mean or spiteful as he has been in recent weeks. Hey, I appreciate your reactions though Mandy, I hope that goes without saying by now. Wouldn't bother rewatch it otherwise. That's the most entertaining part ๐ค
Jeffrey44
If tongs aren't a good Christmas present then why were they in the 2 for 1 offer? You wouldn't buy two sets of tongs for yourself.
Dextrous (Lewis)
One of the best episodes! And finally seeing Mark's parents gives a real insight into why he is the way that he is, not that it makes him any less of a dick ๐ It's funny how every family has their own unique little Christmas rituals, so when you spend Christmas with other people everything feels off!
DriveIn
I loved the almost spit-take at "Not the theatre obviously"! ๐ Catastrophe averted!
Acexige
I feel like 7:30 (Mark's no turkey rant) was the comments when there was no XFM Friday a few weeks ago and Jez is Mandy putting out a Saturday XFM
Z is for Zed
Now that's a good question. Another is "when have the makers of this show ever shied away from the unpleasant"?
Benjamin Taylor-Yates
I know it's not really a thing for yours but I remember you told us why in that Steven Merchant film reaction. Mint sauce, exactly as it sounds. A nice smooth Herby sauce we have usually with lamb.
irreverend
There is a reason you shouldn't store potatoes in the fridge I think, something about very cold temperatures causing the starches to turn into sugars or something. I spend Christmas day binge watching a TV series and staying sober usually :) My daughter's birthday is 2 days before Christmas, so hopefully I'll see her for that
Mandy Cane Lane
I was informed but haven't even looked at a thumbail yet! Will look into it ๐
Mandy Cane Lane
Also Irreverend, I feel you should start your own personal tradition of doing something you enjoy on Christmas. Even if it has nothing to do with the holidays. Watch scary movies, or buy yourself a new videogame to play or start a new project every year, or something you can personally look forward to ๐ค
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahahaha! I am reading comments and potatoes in the fridge seems rather common!
Mandy Cane Lane
Thank you ๐ฉต
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahaha! I do have a potato drawer, but it is in the bottom of the fridge ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahaha! Depends on the fruit, and Sheldon Cooper (TBBT) says bread spoils faster in the fridge ๐
Mandy Cane Lane
He flew off the handle so fast!! ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
WAIT! Mint sauce??? For what exactly?... I am extremely intrigued!! -- That all sounds lovely Benji, glad you have a family that can have such a nice time together and can keep up such wonderful traditions. My family is.... well we love eachother, but we don't have traditions like that and we don't really do presents ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahahhaa, this made me picture it like a South Park scene ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
Ahh, gotcha! ๐๐ป
Mandy Cane Lane
Hmmm... I see your point, and yes, so many parent are awful to their children, but I myself am not a Mark defender ๐
Mandy Cane Lane
I second this actually, haha. But then why write a baby in? ๐คช
Mandy Cane Lane
Lmao! I love that!! ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Mandy Cane Lane
HAHAHA! Never been confused with Mary Poppins before ๐คญ๐คช
Mandy Cane Lane
Hahaha! That lil worm was awesome ๐คฃ๐คฃ. Dobby deserves better!!
Hypnobob
God - there'll be a celebrity one next.
Josh Read
When you did the "ello" I thought of the worm from labyrinth ๐ค wow Mark's dad was very rude to poor Dobby ๐ข
AWR93
Mike and Rose really got into the roles ๐ Plus the kids were so funny and wholesome, Iโd love to see Mandyโs reaction to the first ep!
Secret
Saw the upload so I pressed play, but had to do something quickly so turned off my phone screen Heard the Ello and I immediately thought I accidentally put on a Mary popins video so had to quickly re check ๐คฃ Brill reaction as always Mandy
Podey Williams
โThat wasnโt very Christmassyโ is almost certainly the most memeโd moment of this show, you see it as a reaction gif to basically any news story in the Uk in the month of December. ๐
Podey Williams
Iโm watching the first ep right now, wasnโt convinced it would be for me going in but itโs really funny! Just like the main show, the way the tasks bring out the personalities of the contestants make for the biggest laughs and the kids are just as entertaining as the adults. Mike and Rose are doing a great job, too.
Z is for Zed
Babies usually fuck comedy shows up. The screaming is evolutionarily designed to be horrible to listen to, but so many shows just let it run and run. Less baby is better.
Michael Harrop
I actually feel bad for Mark, I've always been a mark defender and I guess I'm sticking with it. Mark has talked so much throughout the show of his awful relationship with his dad, he's so uncomfortable and nervous around him. He's a fuck up no doubt but I actually do just feel for him. I'm sure he'd love to be more brave, he eventually does but she's already gone.
Michael Harrop
Jez usually stays with his family for Christmas but they're having it abroad so he's with Mark for the first time
emu cat
Heckfire, cauliflower and sprouts together nope, possible explanation for spontaneous human combustion. 23hr biohazard ticket minimum. Keep Christmas safe.
Benjamin Taylor-Yates
Not an entirely unrealistic Christmas scenario for some houses. I find it quite saddening that you're not a Christmassy person. If there was anyone who I think would really get into it, it would be you. ๐ ๐ Yes you're correct, potatoes, we usually keep them in the fridge. But generally anywhere cool and dark works. Okay so hang on in there Mandy! - let me take you into Benji 's world: Christmas morning. Yes I've moved out but we all still go to our parents house. (Cos I'm in a tiny flat and my sister's on a raf base.) so we go home. My dad is the chef in our house, he makes us a nice bacon/sausage sandwich breakfast with a brew and we open our presents in the living room. And have a laugh. We don't have turkey, never liked it so each year we decide on either pork, steak or lamb for our meat. We put the dogs' Christmas jumpers on and they love it cos they know this means they're deffo getting food. You'll usually feel a little nose on your leg under the table when we start eating and then they'll pop their head out one by one to everyone until someone gives in. We open cards, my mum puts some Christmas music on, we laugh at my sister's joke present and then we get out the dining table ready with all the covers and plates etc all set out. From then on we're all banned from the kitchen as my dad closes the door and watches tv on his iPad while he cooks the whole lot. It's the one time we all have a three course meal together each year. We have our starter at around 10, which is usually either melons or prawn cocktail (wine glass with lettuce and prawns in a rich seafood sauce) really nice. We have Christmas dinner at around 12-1 which is boiled veg, sprouts, stuffing, pigs in blankets, gravy, meat and mint/apple sauce and sometimes some Yorkshire puddings. And a bottle of champagne or wine we share. We then chill for about an hour after until dessert is ready. Go say hello to the neighbours etc. then after dessert if I've not drunk too much to drive I head home and relax.
Michael Harrop
Marks rant at Jez about the Turkey is my favourite scene in the whole show, absolutely hilarious ๐คฃ
Julian T
I keep potatoes in the fridge. Itโs a food cupboard, all my perishables go in there. Including bread, fruit, eggs. Controversial subjects.
Jeffrey44
What!? Alex Horne is the worst Taskmaster's Assistant I have ever seen. He has no place being a teacher.
Stuart
I hadn't come across keeping potatoes in the fridge until I moved in with my wife. Now of course that's where I put them because it's not something any man could be bothered arguing about.
AWR93
On the taskmaster channel a few days ago, they uploaded a video of Alex Horne training Mike Wozniak on how to be a taskmaster assistant ๐
Jeffrey44
I knew that. I haven't seen it either. I do know that they have a different house.
James Aston
Ello mate! What do you mean you don't have a potato drawer. I think Argentina needs to catch up
Regular Viewer Bunty Hoven
Dobby's real name is Debbie.
irreverend
Oh well that's a shame, but to be expected I suppose
.
It came shortly after LOST when networks thought every TV drama needed some kind of deep rooted mystery at the heart of it to keep viewers hooked. It was certainly an interesting idea but it didn't last long and I don't recall it being all that good.
irreverend
Potatoes always store in a cool dark place. Never heard of anyone keeping them in a fridge though. Incidentally I believe Mark has the same attitude towards Christmas as I do. I am not a festive person. Or a family person. Basically Christmas is the embodiment of everything I dislike
irreverend
I also don't know what Flashforward is, but after looking at the synopsis, it does sound possibly interesting, "After the entire world's population blacks out for approximately two minutes and seventeen seconds, an elite FBI task force is formed to investigate what caused the global blackout." Although why the FBI are spearheading a global investigation is beyond me. The rest of the series he mentioned were however, in my opinion anyway, awful :)
Joshyboiiiiii
DID YOU KNOW rose and Mike are hosts of junior taskmaster, haven't seen it but it's a thing
