I don't have an issue with you. The reason I didn't reply is because I forgot about you the second I read your message.

Stanley Muggins

Actually, yeah, she's the one who taught me to stand up for myself. I used to be a shithouse like you too when I was little. Do you wanna try again? Come on it's a freebie, dude. No-ones gonna think badly of you for standing up to me at this point. Mandy wont find it so let it all out and get that shit off your chest if you have the cojones 🤗 I would genuinely like to know what your issue was and why you wouldn't respond.

Josh Read

No one is impressed Stanley. Do you think your sister would be proud of your behaviour, knowing you are attacking others including women. After you said she was attracted herself?

Stanley Muggins

Careful not to let your mask slip tho - try velcroing it to that eyebrow first!! 🤣🤣

Stanley Muggins

Hahahaha you spineless prick you found your tongue now you think I'm gone. Come on then lay it on me you twat I'll find it on one of my other accounts you boot licking cunt

Stanley Muggins

🤣 I can't tell if you are joking or not, Josh, what have I complained about besides having to navigate my way around the cyberbully? * Oh right, never mind, It's like that? I see you now. 🤨🐀

Stevus

Fenominal!

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahah! Happy Robunukah! 🤣🤣 And thank you! Glad to know I am not alone on thinking it was odd 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahahaha, I NEVER expected them to address the candle 😅😅

Mandy Cane Lane

👈🏻😎👉🏻

Mandy Cane Lane

Yes, but I still don't get why... not even a similar mouth position 😅

David Williams

P has often mutated into F over time, like Pyre and Fire or Padre and Pater into Father there are a lot of examples in all sorts of languages.

David Baker

I got the Theme Tune to that Stuck in my head for weeks and kept singing it at random times. Only playing it about 17 times eventually got the worm out!

Jeffrey44

Yeah, Hat Trick. That's right. They did Whose Line is it Anyway as well. You know it. That's them. Same company.

Josh Read

What are you moaning about now?

BobSandwiches

The suspense following Mandy's 3-minute discourse on the "candle" whilst waiting for it to be explained, and anticipating Mandy's inevitable reaction, was awesome. I think Ted unaccountably understanding the Spanish was just a surreal joke.

Stevus

OK, so that bit at the start with the Cuban? was SUPER weird to me. What was the deal with the translation!? And I'm not even talking about whether what was said was translated accurately, or whether his Spanish was good. I don't know, I'll leave that up to your expertise to decipher. But who was it? Who was even talking? Was it just some random voice-over guy talking instead of subtitles? Maybe it was God! And yes! Weirdly, they seemed to understand everything he said! Could they hear the voice of God translating? So strange. In other news, Dougals bed sheets were He-man... BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL!!! Yes, I did watch it when I was a kid, and had many of the toys, which I spent many a happy hour building castles for out of bricks. But you were right about PH. It's just because of its Ancient Greek roots and then translation to Latin, then English. So, I guess the obvious question that remains for a show like this would have to be, what was today's lesson. I feel like there were 2. 1. All Catholic priests are muy F-ed up! 2. Any publicity is good publicity. I don't know why, and so I couldn't tell you what, but I feel like there's some deeper significance to all that. Well, Happy Robanukah to you and I'll catch you next time! 🤗

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahahah, I loved that I undersrood all of this so easily 🤣. Thank you Rusty!

Stanley Muggins

If only someone less boring had left a perfectly reasonable explanation for her 2 mins before she read this, ah well I guess we'll never know.

irreverend

Come to think of it I was in one a bit like this for 3 years once too. I was glad to see the back of that relationship. I, too, could not tell you why at all heh

Rusty Dog

Phantastic stuff as ever. I love that couple who are always arguing. :) The episodes are phrickin' weird though, but phunny. Oh and I've sent you what is hopephully a phix for your video phreeze bug. Phingers crossed.

Mandy Cane Lane

OHHHHHH!!! Hahahhaha. I look at her when they mention my "partner". She is my little partner in crime 🤭

Stanley Muggins

Well you often refer to Kitana as your wife so 🤷‍♂️

Stanley Muggins

Jeez. Thank you 🫤😞

Mandy Cane Lane

Woot woot! 🥳🍻

Mandy Cane Lane

That explains a lot! 😅😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Haha, love it! 🤗✨️

AWR93

Glad to hear it! And yeah that was super gross

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHAHAHHA! You lost me pretty quickly Remi! 🤣🤣🤣

Mandy Cane Lane

Oh boy! 🤢 Don't want to think about it! Thank you for explaining "Clue" and also for not saying wether the candke thing was possible or not. I really, truly and honestly do NOT want to know 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

I did remember to look it up! Greek then derived to latin but no actual reason it turned into an "f" sound. Lol. And no thank you, I think I am done with candles forever 😬

Mandy Cane Lane

Lol! I am not sure. I have known many couples like this one... not so extreme though. Hell, I have even been in a relationship like this at some point. I still have no idea what I was thinking. Lol

Mandy Cane Lane

Yes! I actually remembered to look it up! Still doesn't make a whole lot of sense though 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahh. Forgot about that 😅

Mandy Cane Lane

Noooo!!! Small town people are famous for being super boring! Haha. Would drive me mad! And who is my wifey? I have a wifey? 🤔

Mandy Cane Lane

He-man! I should have known! 🤭

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahhh, all lovely plans! Retirement by a lake sounds lovely, but many years away! My brother and I have sorted things out luckily. All is well again 🤗✨️

Mandy Cane Lane

Not boring! Informative. Informative is always good! 🤗✨️

Captain Howdy

Virtual hugs, and hope you get things sorted out that are not going well.

Mandy Cane Lane

I like it! Sounds funny to me 🤭

Mandy Cane Lane

Ahhh He-Man! Seen so many memes, I should have known! 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Awww, thank you kindly Cap! Happy Valenyines day to you as well 🤗✨️

Mandy Cane Lane

Awww, thank you kindly Cap! Happy Valentines day to you as well 🤗✨️

Mandy Cane Lane

Oops, my bad 🤣 I though maybe it was like an Austin Powers subtitle situation 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Noted! Stop questioning Father Ted! Haha. Thank you Ana! I am over the moon 🤗✨️

Mandy Cane Lane

HAHAHHA! That was so gross! 😭

Mandy Cane Lane

Bro sorted! Haha. And that candle thing was pure 🤢

Mandy Cane Lane

Hahaha, noted Mark! 🤪

Mandy Cane Lane

Thank you Kirk! Luckily things are better today! 🤗✨️

Kirk Deighton

Sorry to hear you're having a time of it. You've got an army of viewers who have your back, even if the problem brother is the bigger one. The Fill-um thing for movie is how the Irish side of the family say it. But they are also from places about as remote as Ted's place, only on the mainland.

Mark Oglesby

The voice over is part of the silliness, you can't overthink these things with Father Ted. Or even think about them at all, you just have to let it wash over you and enjoy the madness for what it is.

AWR93

Mandy your face when you found out about the candles was too good! 🤭 Hope you sort things out with your bro 👊

DriveIn

I haven't seen Father Ted in ages, and getting to re-experience them through your eyes is great! Especially finding out how candles are made 😂

Ana and Shawn

This was a unique episode but was lots of fun. I think your not supposed to take things tooo seriously. Hope your wall gets fixed soon. On the positive side, you look super happy. - Anastasiya

Julian T

I think the voiceover translation is just part of the comedy, you’re not supposed to overthunk it and use logic.

George Britten

Not just frowned upon, in Ireland until 1995 it was illegal to get divorced

Captain Howdy

Normally I would try to make some kinda informative comment or say something "I" think is humourous, but today I just wanna say (a day early as I have no idea when you will upload next or read this) happy valentines day, Mandy. May all your days be as lovely as you.

Captain Howdy

There are different regional dialects in Ireland much like there are in England and Scotland. Not all regions say Fillum, but it is pretty much a pronunciation unique to Ireland.

Jonathan Davies

Well technically you’re right but it was a much deeper satire on how the WHOLE of Ireland behaves around the church 👀😂

David Baker

I always wondered what the joke behind the joke was I always thought they just did because of Ted being their local priest.

David Baker

Hello. Hello LOVELY MANDY of Cane Lane glad to see you enjoying this more and more it means we get to see that enchanting smile and laugh of your more times on average per episode. (Dougie's Bedsheets are He-Man characters from the 80s Cartoon another sign of his Arrested Development) x

Stanley Muggins

PS. Try saying PH and pronouncing the p and h individually, it kind of makes a sound similar to a fuh. Might it be one of those things which just evolved over time like when Y became T (Ye olde shoppe - is just pronounced as the old shop)

(Just) Steve

Not sure which would smell worse, the Shrek or Father Jack candles!

Jonathan Davies

According to my Nan it’s more of a Southern Ireland thing..she could just be full of crap though 😂

Josh Read

The one question she wishes she never asked 🤣 Will you be trying to make your own candles from now on Mandy?

Jeffrey44

Father Ted is Irish and he doesn't say film in the same way as Bishop Len Brennan.

Jonathan Davies

Yes the Irish say film like that. My gran is Irish and I make her say Fill-im all the time 😂

Jonathan Davies

The context behind the couple who hate each other..in Ireland the Catholic Church was completely in charge without ‘technically’ being in charge. The joke is how everyone acts differently around the church and also divorce was a big big no no! The whole context of the show is a satire on Ireland at the time. Sorry for boring everyone 😂😂

Benjamin Taylor-Yates

I've known a few people who are in those sorts of cold relationships. It's usually because they either can't afford a divorce, or to live seperate. Or they have kids to look after, and sometimes it is simply the case that they become accustomed to it, and a breakup doesn't really occur to them since they're so tired and drained. 😩 And some people are just plain terrified of being alone and having to go back on the dating game. I can't say for sure, I've had next to no experience in that regard. 🥴 As far as living places, I'd love to settle somewhere maybe in the Rockies. Or on a lakeside in a place like Bariloche. 🏔️ With my own little grass strip, just me and my aeroplane living in a hanger and then just buy a little house for a missus to live in. But if all else fails, I like my homeland, Yorkshire. I'll likely find a small place to retire out of the way in the Vale of York. Just a nice place to look after with a view of the hills with a short drive to a nearby village for the essentials. Hope everything's okay with you and your brothers. 🙂 I haven't argued with my sister for a long time, then again, we don't see eachother often. Not since we started working and then she went to RAF. Can't wait till you start reacting to Benidorm.

Hypnobob

I think Whose line started on Channel 4 here - so that would make sense. Also He-Man duvet cover.

Stanley Muggins

Thanks Mandy. Towns are great IMO. Right in the Goldilocks zone. Not too busy, no bustling people or traffic, no smog, shops are within walking distance. And in this country, at least, a town is never more than a few miles from the countryside, or a beach, or a city, if you ever do need access to that kind of thing. 👨‍🍳👌 Craggy Island would be awesome to live on though. I reckon I could handle the isolation, the serenity of it and the idyllic scenes are a bonus too, it's just the lack of local amenities that would get to me I think, and the other 20 or so people living there who are probably all bored as all hell and want to chat your ears off each time you see them about everybody elses dramas. Also, Happy valentines to you and your wifey if you're in to that - over paying for one marketed day a year stuff. Is she taking you out for dinner?

Stanley Muggins

The smell off of those candles though 🤢OMG. #Scented

Carl-Fredrik L

I think divorce is frowned upon ,according to the catholic church,? Regarding the fighting couple

irreverend

I believe you're right about ph being of Greek origin, but I think they pronounced it as a hard p

irreverend

On a serious note, I'd have to think anyone willing to stay in that kind of mutually hateful relationship has some deep seated issues they're trying to ignore with the constant distraction and stress, rather than addressing their real pain. Or maybe it just makes the sex better :P

Remi

I think I know where your talking about it was on countryfile, I bet it's a bastard when it's storming

irreverend

It was beautiful, because she'd been wondering about the candle, and half way through the deaf conversation the penny drops :)

irreverend

I live on an island with a road bridge to the mainland, in town of about 70,000, near the Lake District. So island, beaches, not large city, and nearby valleys. It's pretty nice to be honest

Josh Read

Did you remember to look up the origins oh PH? Also remember how they made the candles out Jack's earwax. Your face was a picture 🤣

(Just) Steve

Three months to repair the wall?! I know you’ve said in the past that hiring tradesmen in Argentina is often an exercise in futility, but that’s ridiculous! When I had a water leak just before Christmas and my kitchen ceiling was bulging a plumber came round the next day, then another chap arrived two days later and fixed the hole in the ceiling. They’re playing Clue, known as Cluedo in the UK. It’s a murder mystery game. Three cards featuring a person, a murder weapon and a room, are placed in the middle of the board face down. Those are the murderer, the weapon used and the room the murder happened in.
Each player is dealt the remaining cards and you have to find out what cards the other players have. Then by process of elimination you figure out which three cards are in the middle of the board telling you which character is the murderer, which weapon they used and what room they did it in.
(these eejits dealt all of the cards between them though) I seem to recall they tested on Mythbusters whether you could make candles out earwax. 🤢 Dougal’s bed covers are He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. (a kids cartoon if you aren’t aware) Don’t forget to look up PH vs F!

Remi

If you like Valleys Mandy you'll fucking love it where I live in Abergavenny south Wales well except the very high pollen, humidity when it rains and the smell of animal shit being spread on the fields and sheep in the middle of the road or even better my fucking garden shitting in my driveway and digging up the grass

Nick

yes! lol when dougal is doing blockbusters in his sleep - that's the same blockbusters that smerch went on before he was famous/ that rockbusters was named after

Tony Mingoia

I've always thought Father Hernandez' Spanish was a little stilted, but I've never looked him up until now. The actor's name is Derrick Branche, and he was born in Mumbai, India! 😅
