Hello, Hello Beautiful Mandy. You really are churning these out it's good to get a nice slice of regular Cane Laneage each week. Cunk is brilliant writing and the way she delivers it is class if you knew all the UK culture/history reference points we do you woukd laugh even harder. Robert Peston who has a serious political talk show was trying his best not to laugh at the end of this episode that's how clever this is. I hope you watch more of these as they are brilliant. I don't remember a lot of the events mentioned being too young but overly know them now through adulthood and seeing documentaries/films etc on them. 'Arthur Scarface' had me rolling with laughter being from the part of world he is from. I also realised how easy it was to makes paragraphs so it reads better for you when you go through the comments (If only i'd just looked and clocked the clearly obvious instructions. The footage of Tony Blair doing soccer headers was filmed at my school. It was just after I had left though. This may be the first time you have seen Mr Blobby in anything, even if it was very brief. He was a pretty important figure in UK culture for a few years. He is still on TV now but he isn't quite as popular. He is obviously quite a bit older now and some things that were acceptable to a mainstream audience in the '90s no longer are. It's worth getting to know Mr Blobby's work as he will come up again, he features in a future Taskmaster task for example.

The world is better in some ways and not in others. My dad bought his own house and travelled a lot of the world by the time he was 19 just by doing gardening for rich people(late 60s). You could only do that now if you had rich parents, I think people were generally more free and optimistic in the 90s , but didn't have access to information like we do now which is the biggest difference in peoples lives. As much as people love to say how good it was back then I think they forget the hours of boredom when there was nothing to do, probably why people did so many drugs.

I remember the Falklands War but I was only a kid. It’s interesting because there’s little strategic value but we had to protect them. Even as recently as 2013 they voted 99.8% to remain British (only 3 people voted against).

There are always nay-sayers who'll disagree but the world we live in today is better than it ever has been. I was growing up when most of this was kicking off, and it hasn't really affected me that much, we as a family have always survived just fine, but a lot of the other stuff is way older than people realise, for example, neither me nor you were even born when the Falklands war was on, but to many veterans it seems like only yesterday. Happy Sunday Mandy! Another series ✅ done.
