Taskmaster - S14 E5 - Chip Biffington.
🕑 Added 2025-03-11 13:00:13 +0000 UTCEnergy is high! Confidence is up! Tasking is amazing! Banter is brilliant! What more can anyone ask for in an episode? Also, you know, I am really liking Dara... One of my friends isn't too keen on him and I always figured it was because the guy must be annoying or something.... but not at all.. he is great! And he fits in very well in Taskmaster... hell, so far he is winning!

Ohhh, I wasn't expecting a reply :P That's awesome, if you ever need any HD copies of UK TV, let me know - I have a program that lets me download the HD files from pretty much every streaming service ;)
Carl-Fredrik L
Well, i am a Carl π
BobSandwiches
Yeah: for someone who left the English-speaking world as a child (I believe you mentioned), 'disparate' is not the most common word you would likely get to hear, hence why I gave the definition...

Hello Rob and welcome!!! Thank you for joining! ππ»π€β¨οΈ Almost everything I do is per request! Problem is I get so many requests my list is quite endless, but Outsiders is most definitely on it! ππ»β¨οΈ

Fern is amazing! And her autism sometimes comes out in full bloom and it is magical! π€β¨οΈ
Mandy Cane Lane
I know none of the things you just mentioned.... although the word "farm" rings a bell...
Mandy Cane Lane
Thank you James! And that is a sound idea, (haha, get it?) but I don't normally use subtitles because they distract me too much and I just end up reading everything and missing out on what is actually happening π
Mandy Cane Lane
Oh no π°
Mandy Cane Lane
HAHHAHAHA! Love it! π€£
Mandy Cane Lane
It does answer my question, thank you very much for providing photographic proof ππ»β¨οΈ

Cheese no? I think brussel sprouts and cheese go great! For example they are a brilliant addition to a fondue! ππ»β¨οΈ
Jeffrey44
I can't bring myself to laugh at that. He could have killed him.
Stevus
I LOVE Brussel sprouts. Halved and roasted till golden brown and crispy. π
DriveIn
Bacon yes, cheese no - it's usually a Christmas dinner situation.
Josh Read
Have you eaten them with cheese and bacon?
DriveIn
"I freaking love vegetables" is the most wholesome thing π€ I've always loved Brussels sprouts, a fact which whenever I tell anyone causes them to look at me like I just said I like to eat fingers. π
Gray
I heard he got knocked out from the fall too. He also wanted to keep it in the show but the producers said no chance

Those plastic tubes are meant to be used to safely convey rubbish or debris to a lower level on a building site or similar. Here is a picture of them being used for their intended purpose. I hope this answers your question about the chains. https://www.martinplanthire.co.uk/hire/product/rubbish-chute

Those candy looking things that you said looked a bit like towels. You were pretty spot on. They're ACME instant towel pellets. Just add water... instant wet towel!
laluneodyssee
Alex injured his eye socket. As he was getting out of the pipe for Ferns task, he fell
James
I love your Taskmaster reactions! I feel like you should watch the show with subtitles/captions on, it would help you understand some of what you don't catch or sometimes mis-hear π
Rob Pitt
Yeah, well, earlier Taskmaster (the later series' are hilarious as it's been on for so long!). It has a lot of the same comedians that have been on TM, but very different tasks based loosely on surviving in the wild (as they're camping) but very silly - like paintball hunting the other teams who are dressed in animal costumes
AWR93
If I remember correctly they filmed there when the terminal was closed due to reduced travel.
Jeffrey44
Well done. I reckon you are a boy from Newcastle or the surrounding area who is about 29 years of age. I suspect your name is Jordan. Don't ask me how I know but I bet I'm not far wrong.
Jeffrey44
That's Quite Interesting.
Jeffrey44
It's like Taskmaster but is it as good as Taskmaster?
Rusty Dog
No I forgot about Covid.
Jeffrey44
The airport was Gatwick's South Terminal. It was closed at the time due to the COVIDS (If you remember that?)
Rusty Dog
How on Earth did they manage to clear a terminal of Gatwick Airport? Must have been in the early hours
Josh Read
Welcome Rob π»
AWR93
It was Gatwick Airport rusty!
Jeffrey44
Talking about Noel Edmonds, Noel Edmonds has a new show out. If you loved Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Prime Video where Jeremy Clarkson runs a farm with hilarious consequences. You'll love Noel's Haven on ITV where Noel Edmonds runs a haven with hilarious consequences. Coming soon.
Rusty Dog
Another great episode. Just found out today that Fern is autistic. And I watched a bit of her stand-up too - and she has a book out. I wonder which airport the used for that task? The live task was great, especially when they got the letters wrong :)
Rob Pitt
Hello, first time using Patreon - love your vids on YT so had to subscribe for more :) ~ Q. Do you take requests/recommendations? If so, have you seen David Mitchell's Outsiders? It's like Taskmaster but the comedians are camping for a week, doing silly tasks each day :)
BobSandwiches
Youtube shows me there was a Subbutio World Cup in the UK last year - it tours the world much like the real World Cup. Not a single person (i.e. man) under 40 in any team that I could see. Ah well; I still use film and make prints in a darkroom, so I'm not pointing any fingers at people doing old things just because they enjoy it!π).
Josh Read
You really channelled John Wayne there Mandy that was incredible π€π€π€
AWR93
βJohn whatβs your definition of pleasure?β βDoing something.. wellβ π€£π€£ LOL heβs too funny!! I love that both of the ladies went for a different approach with Alex! Is it just me or were they giving off older sister torturing younger brother vibes? π The live tasks this series have been brilliant too!
MarkCity10
Fernβs so adorable! Even her laugh is cute π Loving these reactions cos Iβve not seen all this series so itβs great to watch along with you π€ π©΅
Carl-Fredrik L
Im also a big fan of (not streaking π) pre computer games like tabletop football/hockey, pinball and couronne ("poor mans billiards" π)
Carl-Fredrik L
Ah! Looking up subbuteo, it isnt exactly what i thought it was. But close enough. I was thinking about the ones with metal rods where the players go along a track (there are also a hockey version). This seems to be a game where you flick the players with your fingers. Any who. Streakers are, as you all probably know, an infamous phenomenon in football culture, where naked people run across the field being chased by police and/or security π It makes more sense in a game such as subbueto, where the little players arent attached to the game table
BobSandwiches
"Subbutio" - it is/was, as you surmised, a tabletop football game that was extremely popular in pre-computer days. It still has dedicated fans who hold matches, but FIFA on the computer has obviously taken over for most people where Subbutio once reigned supreme. π
Michael Harrop
John: VEEEEEEEEEE VEEEEEEEEEEEEEE π
Carl-Fredrik L
I think the streaker is for one of those physical table football game-toys? Not foosball , the other one. But i have no idea what word he is saying. Semuna? English culture can be very hard to understand for outsiders. Its a high context culture. Im swedish
Carl-Fredrik L
I dont remember my first memory π
Carl-Fredrik L
Disparate means without comparison
Michael Harrop
Disparate and desperate are two completely different words π€£
(Just) Steve
Not sure which one was first but my oldest memories are: 1. Building a snowman with my brother in my grandparents garden. 2. Sucking the sugary coating off my grandadβs medication. Child-proof caps were no match for me! Then I spent some time in hospital as they werenβt sure if iβd swallowed any or not. The chicken soup was lovely. lol
Ajayrious
Talking about weather all the time just makes you an honourary British person :P I dont mind Dara so much, but some of the programmes he's been in (Mock the Week for example) arent my favorite. When he first came on the scene he also had an annoying Vocal tic, where he would kind of go "Errrr" after a punchline, maybe to fill silence in case people didnt laugh but i think this has reduced over the years.
Tony Mingoia
Interesting fact about Subbuteo. The creator wanted to call it "The hobby", but the trademark people wouldn't let him. So he took the name from the bird of prey commonly known as the hobby, whose scientific name is Falco Subbuteo.
BobSandwiches
Dara is one of my top 3 standups. Your friend is objectively wrong. * We have consumer rights in the UK - tho I would not assume all developed countries have such rights (I'm looking at you USA...). Your money would be safe in the UK for various reasons too boring to go into here... Greg said "disparate" rather than "desperate" in his intro: disparate means "completely different from each other" , so "disparate souls doing battle" means "people of various different natures doing battle"... * Other opinions are available ** ** but they are wrong.
Ryan W.
I forgot about Munya jumping on John while pretending to be a chimpanzee. I've been sat here cry-laughing at that for the last 3 minutes ππ
Matthew Petty
Pretty sure he said disparate not desperate at the start (different word)
Alex W
They all need at least 1 spare outfit. So 2 minimum.
Jonathan Davies
Subbuteo was a football game that old bastards like me used to play back in the day π youβd have little players that you basically had to flick at the ball..it was better than it sounds ππ
Josh Read
Not embarrassing at all. Just think of the good Mandy content you have to look forward to π€
Benjamin Taylor-Yates
I agree. Dara is an acquired taste once you get over the way he mumbles away. He's sound. π The TV shenanigans sound very vexing. I wager the staff at the store know about as much as you do about it cos that's just modern management these days! π We do have next day delivery for a lot of stuff like that especially with Amazon etc. Don't be sad, you'll get one eventually. π I mean, you've only got to buy it once. π€ Then you can move onto the next thing. I remember you mentioned wanting to go to singing lessons last year once you'd settled into your place. πΆ π
Vee
Morningg. This season was so unhinged I love it.
Joshyboiiiiii
Im so far behind now it's embarrassing π
