This was tough!
🕑 Added 2022-09-28 07:47:32 +0000 UTCMy friends, one part of the roof is finished, and it wasn't as easy as it might seem! The whole thing is made from copper sheet. I first had to fabricate a template from plastic which I then used to bend and cut the individual sheets to shape. Everything was then glued together, I added the bolts and washers, and it was ready for painting.
That was the usual ordeal: metal primer, black primer, and then, very unusually, AK 3rd gen. Silver! A coat of flat varnish gave it a duller look, and honestly, although I expected some more elaborate approach, it looked just like in the references! So I just gave it a pinwash using Winter Streaking Grime, painted the bolts with Dark Rust, and gave them another wash with Streaking Rust Effects. Everything is captured on video, so it'll explain the process better, especially the bending and cutting part.
Now onto the roof itself, I already know the process and techniques, so it must go smoother! :D

What kind of copper are you using? I can't seem to find thin enough copper sheets... the only stuff I found was WAY too thick for scale and/or pressing

Find the dimensions online and divide by 35 :) For example, a standard corrugated roof plate is 2000x800mm. Learned that in some online store

I'm not sure if you have been asked this before Uncle, but how do you calculate actual size bricks / breeze block to 1/35 scale? I know you use graph paper to sketch out your template, but I cannot for the life of me work out the correct scale....
