The term retinue or retinues is more accurate when referring to the select groups closest to the Lord. At any given time, this could include the female castle staff led by Cecile, Audrey and her subordinates, Sterling and the squires, the guardsmen closest to him, Hugo and his lieutenants, as well as Sir Justin and his own squires. On the other hand, "retainers" encompasses all individuals who serve or are "retained" under the Lord. This broader category includes not just those in immediate proximity to the Lord but also stable boys, outer guardsmen, gardeners, and even the blacksmith in town who is under his service. wiki even stated: "A contemporary described these as "kin, friendis, allys and parttakaris" ("kin, friends, allies, and partakers") to the lord.[14] Members of the affinity could usually be identified by the livery the lord would distribute for their identification with him; this could range from simple armbands to "a more exclusive form of livery—exclusive metal mounted riband bands";[15] high-ranking members of John of Gaunt's retinue—a "highly prized" position—wore the Collar of Esses.[16] The members of the affinity closest to the lord were those of most use: the estate officials, treasurer, stewards, and often more than one lawyer.[9]"

Matthew Bernardin

So something I need to ask. Why do you use the word retinues instead of retainer? A retinue is a group of people who follower a leader. And it’s plural would mean multiple groups rather then the individuals within that group. However retainer and the plural retainers is specifically the subordinates of a feudal lord within his retinue.

Lol, there's a saying: normally, people don't buy baby clothes when they're only dating. It's not realistic to expect a battle plan to work 100%. The MC isn't an experienced top-level genius like Julius or Napoleon, he simply focuses on surviving and dares not to think about getting more land.

Why wouldn't Lansius plan a counterattack to Korimor prior to the invasion? If his main ace was the fire which he was planning for last season, why wouldn't he think of attacking Korimor and preparing as well? The goal is solid but making this a spur of the moment thought feels cheap
