NATO camo blocked in!
🕑 Added 2023-08-04 17:15:41 +0000 UTCMy friends, today I sprayed the remaining brown patches and the model is ready to be post-shaded. I wanted to continue working, but other duties had to be taken care of and left me completely drained 😪 Oh well, it’s gonna be a rainy weekend, so plenty of bench time!
The NATO colors from AK are great, IMHO even better than Tamiya. Adding a good amount of Tamiya clear improves their flow and there’s very little sputtering. Also, these colors don’t have much contrast between each other, so sputtering isn’t very evident even when it happens. As such, it feels to me that NATO might be one of the easiest camouflages to paint.
Also, the base coat is reasonably dark, so there’s plenty of room to push the highlights and create some nice contrast! Can’t wait to start working on that!

All freehand. Too fragile for masking 😊
MrPlastic
did you mask the camo pattern, or was it free hand?

Nice. Your post reminds me to say that this model might just be great without a diorama for once. As this is such a big build, takes quite a load of your time and it may just help focus on the ‘pallets camouflage’. Just my two cents, but wanted to post this for your consideration.
