Rubber tracks?!

Today I assembled the running gear and kept everything movable, including the suspension - for diorama purposes.
Now, as far as tracks go, the updated M4A2 Tarawa comes with Magic Tracks, but they have pin marks on each link. And they’re not functional.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Dragon Styrene tracks are perfectly fine in terms of detail. IMO they’re the best, most detailed “rubber” tracks out there. It’s just that they’re useless for most armor subjects, but I think they’re perfectly fine for Shermans because their tracks were always stiff with little to no sag. If they “float” a little above the return rollers, they can be fixed with superglue when the model is finished. Also, Dragon makes them from a very good material. They can be glued wit regular cement and paint actually holds on them unlike vinyl tracks.
One of them is dirty already because I used it to add track imprints in the T29 diorama 😁
And I think this type of track wasn’t shown on the channel yet, although I’ve painted them in the past on the M6 Heavy 😊
So although I had Panzerwerk 3D tracks in the shopping basket today, after putting these on and adding tension with the idler wheel I’m very happy with how they look.
What are your thoughts on DS tracks?

That's true, but once the model is glued in a diorama, nobody will be touching the tracks, so I think it should be all good! Fingers crossed!

Ive been 3d printing my tracks, the detail is great at 1/35 and 1/72.

The problem I have ran into is that they deteriorate over time. you can just touch them in a couple of years and they will fall apart. But you do make a good argument for them.
