The best way for wood grain in scale. In my opinion of course. Looking very good.

Zach Grizzle

This just in: Martin loves big wood… wait no that’s not right

Night Shift

Yeah, the rebar was a tad bit on the nose and it didn't fit the facade. Luckily, the entire "boarded up panel" is removable from behind for painting :)

Mike A.

If I understand correctly, you removed the rebar because it looked like crap? I actually think it looked pretty great (although it does become the center of interest). My only question would have been, how the heck would you paint the boards behind it??

Erik Brubaker

Those doors are awesome!

Bob Yack

I told my wife I need to retire so I can start trying out all these great projects!! She said no :) So, I just have to watch the master make these unbelievable facades. Way cool sir

Rick

Amazing texture!

RelentlesStorm

Great work! That wood trick on styrene is a serious game changer. Curious to see how you add the artificial shadows and weather the wood. The most fascinating part of the Sherman wood was the way you layered the acrylics to create a realistic look. I'd love to see more detail on that process.

Solomon Hollowell

Wow! Nails made from wire! This is amazing.

Chris Hedges

I'm going to give that a try. I fully expect to be covered in small tin dots for weeks to come.

Night Shift

Whoah, I just painted plastic wood twice! But it's a nice idea for the video :D "I've painted plastic wood twice in my life, and that makes me pretty much an expert" :D

Night Shift

When I think about it, these facades could be easily made into "modular" buildings in dioramas. You make a facade and later decide to incorporate it into a scene? Just make another wall, connect them and boom, it's ready to be placed in a diorama.

Night Shift

The hinges are cut from copper sheet. It's more durable than lead and looks prettier in this raw state :) The bolts on the hinges are punched from tin foil with the opposite end of a 0.5mm drill bit

Night Shift

That's so sweet! I hope it'll be the same for me in the future! :)

JayG

I was wondering the same thing. Caught my eye right away.

Joxar

you've become an expert on painting wood effects on styrene, and bent nails sticking out the planks? that's a whole new level of realism right there 😀

John Ratcliff

Beautiful work Martin. As always I watch your work and consider where I can incorporate it in my builds 🙏🏻

Eric

I’m truly loving the variation in your subjects uncle. Can’t wait to see the video on this one 👍

Chris Hedges

The gate hinges look great. Is that plastic too or lead sheet or similar?

Mr Ralph Laughton

Looking so good already... I remember that feeling of going to bed, waiting for morning to come. Come to think of it, I still do it and I am in my 69th year!
