Eastmodels Challenge, part 1: the models
🕑 Added 2024-08-12 11:29:06 +0000 UTCMy friends, I'm back from the show and it was a long weekend. But it's hands down the best show I've been to so far, not just for the models or the event, but the experiences and people who were there!
A small welcome party and barbecue at Jan's cabin (Cabin Scale Models on Youtube and Instagram) on Friday, becoming friends and hanging out with the Lustig brothers (and talking more about cycling and calories than actual models), a discussion panel I had with the visitors where we talked about Youtube and modelling stuff, the beautiful scenery (Liptov region is the most gorgeous part of Slovakia), visiting our highest mountains, a small zoo, everything was just perfect and the atmosphere is hard to describe.
Here are some photos from the show, these models seriously blew me away! I've seen some of them in Moson as well, but now I had the chance to photograph them in detail.

Nice collection of work. One could take it as discouraging, but I will take it as inspiration.

Sure they do. Well, I believe that one day we will still meet at such an event)

I struggled with this as well, especially after model shows :) The key is to get inspired, but not sidetracked! :)

The wreckage diorama is astonishing. I already saw it in Moson but now I was able to take detailed photos of it! Jan, the man behind the show, wanted me and the Lustig brothers to put our models on the tables with non-competitive labels. He says it's more motivating for others to put their works next to the "big names".

That was such an honor and the graphic designer did a really good job with the banner!
Night Shift
They continue to upload more galleries, there's already an AFV one and Dioramas should follow soon :) There's also a gallery from the ceremony which was very nice
Night Shift
That was a real honor!

Haha, there are two IS-2 dioramas crossing a tree trunk bridge that have been making the rounds on every show this year :D A few people mistook them for my diorama during Mosonshow.
Night Shift
Ah :( But your soldiers have been doing such a good job recently!
Night Shift
Yeah, some of the models left me totally speechless!
Night Shift
Ha! Didn't notice that! :D

SO MUCH Talent!!!!!!!! I agree so many cool projects to do/try and no time to do them.

I'm not always that happy with these kind of posts. It just gives me to much inspiration to start with new models before the old ones are finished :-) Good to hear/see that you enjoyed yourself!
Joe Henry
The quality of work there was incredible
Luis Francisco Soto
Nice pics, thanks for sharing!

Some fantastic work on display. Really like the wrecked panzer 4 and Tiger. Some of your works popped up on Facebook over the weekend. Was good to see these amongst the other works on display.

Wow... what an amazing selection of BREATHTAKING works you uploaded here. Please give us all you got , Martin!
Quintin Paparella
Wow…this was all so amazing to look at! I’ve never seen so many great models at once. It was also very cool seeing your diorama as a picture in the banner thing!
Jake McKee
Wow, absolutely fantastic work. Thanks for sharing! Are there more photo galleries online? I checked out the East Models site and it has a bunch of aircraft photos, but I couldn't find dioramas and armor.

Oh WOW!!! The quality of work in these photographs is amazing! Must be something in the air up there in Eastern Europe! 🤔🤓 Did you spot many Nightshift copies whilst you were there? 😎👍

Living in Ukraine, I sometimes forget that life goes on in the world and all kinds of exhibitions take place)
