A nightmare job!

I started by spraying everything with Buff, mainly to paint the gravel between the blocks. The rest was done with brushes.
The concrete was the usual fun, I used the same sponge methods as on the last facade. The worn yellow strip added a splash of color and a more industrial feel to the base. It was painted just like the worn paint on the wooden planks from the last project - chipping fluid applied with a brush, followed by a thick layer of acrylic paint.
The hatch was painted in pale green, the chips were added the old school way, and some rusty oil paints were blended on top of them. The rail tracks were simply base coated with Rotbraun and received the same oil paint treatment. To make the shiny inside edges, I ran an AK Marker in dark metallic color along each track. Super quick and efficient!
The cobblestones were brutal. First, I painted each one with an old stiff brush in different greyish and sandy tones. Then I gave the whole surface a dusty acrylic wash. Next up, I added the stains and shadows with Sepia oil paint. Some lines were darkened with diluted black acrylic as well. And then... the horrific chipping along the edges! Each stone was chipped with diluted white acrylic, just like on the concrete parts. I focused more on efficiency than quality because this amount would drive anyone insane. It took me about 5 hours to chip the stones!
But what's important: the Ferdinand will visually fit well into this scene, and now I can focus on all the accessories, starting with the wooden crates!

A hell of long time chipping but the end result is fantastic. The cobbles really look the part and the yellow strip is just right! Having worked in factories, there are usually loads of yellow markings on the floor and this looks exactly the same.

Awesome! So far, my only achievement is hand-painted stones on a diorama with a Ukrainian Kozak-2 therefore, a hand-painted cobblestone looks like an unattainable level)
