Fallout 4 and Role Playing (Spoilers)
🕑 Added 2015-11-29 09:08:13 +0000 UTC Hey all! This month's episode is up! This time I'm looking at Fallout 4 and how frustrating it can sometimes be from a role playing perspective (and how enjoyably indulgent it can be when that perspective is ignored). It's either a disappointingly shallow sequel to a very smart franchise, or a franchise moving in a direction I'm struggling to follow it in, depending on how you feel about it.
Also, you may be confused - the standing plan was to do Life is Strange next. The good news is that it still is! I just caught a nasty, lingering sinus cold early in the month (you can still kind of hear it in my voice in the video) and it hit right as I finished up Life is Strange's finale. This left me no real energy to write (or ability to record, for that matter) and by the time I recovered I was playing Fallout 4 and, well, this video happened. The good news is I still recorded my playthrough of the finale and I still fully intend to swing back around to it - I just ended up making this one first. Look forward to Life is Strange next!
And as always, thanks for your support!

Great episode! I had the same thoughts on Fallout 4, after only an hour with it on my girlfriend's PS4 -- I've been playing The Witcher 3 a ton and even though that game is, like you said, not a role playing game in the sense of true character creation, there's still MUCH more room for role-playing. It's almost like there needs to be separate terminology for these things?
