Marathon: Children of Doom 4 (Draft)

As prophesied, here is the new episode of Children of Doom! I talk about Marathon! And probably a little too much about Half-Life!
I'm a little nervous about this one; I know most of the fanbase for Marathon tends to view the series collectively this far out and I'm not sure how they'll take a neophyte looking at just the first entry. Still, I really learned a lot from playing through it!

Another early multiplayer shooter was Faceball2000 for the Gameboy. Have you tried that?

Did you ever think about how Bungie games were each like they wanted to tell a more advanced story and each iteration had a different speciality? Myth was all about the AI and level design, which then built back into Marathon as Halo's world stuff? I wish you could look at Myth and Myth 2. They're just a more chess-like game I really liked.
I never played any of the games you've covered in this series so far, which has made every one really informative for me. Great stuff!

Excited for Descent! That was the shareware program that was on my school's computers that everyone would deathmatch on their lunch break.

There's something ironic about the widescreen footage displaying all the sprites too skinny. Or maybe that's true to the original game--they're mostly aliens after all, so maybe they're supposed to be weird--but even the humans seemed off to me.
