Disappointing when games end up being an interactive "the curtains are blue" meme, but not uncommon in the indie sphere. Josh Foreman's comment in this thread is right on point. Maybe there was more to it in the hard mode? Secret Ending?

Realizing a game does nothing with it's narrative elements is so annoying to me. On the other hand, after becoming a parent, it's become increasingly hard to give games the focus that they need when they do pay off. It's a frustrating tight rope
