Originally I was going to make several videos about individual laws to regulate AI (banning killer drones, the problems with human voice clones, AI books etc). I didn’t love those scripts though, so I decided to combine the best parts of each into one longer video. Maybe that’s not optimal for maximising views, but hopefully it’ll be a better viewing experience for you.

100% on board with most of these. Years ago me and my buddies started talking about “face drones” = UAV + facial recognition + gun that you just tell to kill someone and it goes and does it. Seems totally obvious that anything resembling this should be banned. The rights thing is so tricky. I include the biosphere as deserving of moral status, so I think drawing the line at humanity is too narrow. As a general principle, expanding that circle wider is usually better. (Citation: the entire history of moral progress) That said, AI will probably pass a “moral status Turing test” convincing some people it should have rights long before it actually has consciousness. Like David Deutsch said, the real TT should be do neuroscience -> figure out what consciousness is -> emulate that.

The only protection against a bad guy with a killer ai drone is a good guy with a killer ai drone. We should hand a killer AGI drone to every single American citizen which should include a free Spotify subscription.
