Quick Update!

Before I continue animating the rest of Lumine and Sucrose's scene, I decided to first set up the setting for the next scene and upgrade Hu Tao to Gen 2 in advance. This is because I had a bit of a fancy transition in mind for her introduction in the animation :3
But in typical me fashion... I underestimated how much work needed to be done, and I barely finished it before the month ended. That said... I was pretty satisfied with what I came up with :3
I wanted to give Hu Tao a more casual and laid back look. As if she goes into the teapot after work to just chill and hang out... And after fiddling around with a bunch with her design, I ended up just keeping her original hat, hot pants, and footwear as they were all too iconic to her design. And it felt like it strayed too far from her image whenever I tried on new apparels on her :/
That said... I did find success in swapping out her dress! Which was a major relief for me since I always dreaded working with it again XD... As there's just simply too many loose and hanging bits of clothing that needed to be animated every time Hu Tao moves, even by just a lil bit T-T
And as a replacement, I went for a body-fit shirt that hugs her uhhh... petite figure. That was inspired by the traditional chinese clothing called Cheongsam. That would also pass as a sort of undershirt for her usual uniform. Giving the effect that she would just take off her uniform and just chill with her undershirt on :3
And last but certainly not least, Boo Tao!
Now imma be honest, I kinda forgor that I also had to make Hu Tao's ghost as well, until I actually started working on her. But all in all, it only took about half a day of figuring out the right shaders and a working system for it's facial expressions, so it wasn't that bad.
Plus! Boo was surprisingly pretty fun to work with!... Turns out, It was much easier to bring out the emotions I wanted to show off with it's body language, even tho she only has 4 facial expressions in total... Prolly gonna have to make more in the future tho just to be safe :p
What wasn't fun to work with tho, was Hu Tao's pig tails T-T
I still haven't decided on how I'd go about rigging her hair, so that I wouldn't want to pull mine off, once I start working with her full time. But after testing it out with this small showcase, I was reminded of why exactly I needed to figure out an alternative to just manually animating each and every single sway of those naughty naughty bois :/
Oh well... I'll cross that bridge when I get there I suppose. For now, Imma just go back to animating with Lumine and Sucrose and mull it over :3

Glad to be of assistance, and I can't wait to see what you can cook up. Hopefully you'll give some pube love to some of the medium girls too though, and not just limit it to the tall girls, but i'll leave that to your discretion.

The fischl one looks pretty nice. very subtle, but it's still there. Hu Tao's a lil much for my taste tho XD The miruko one was pretty smart. It complimented the fluffy stuff on her neck and added a point of interest to the viewers eyes in a place where we would usually just glance over. Aight then, I'll try and consider some designs and see if I can find an outfit that works with pubes as well as that rumi render :3 Tho it also kinda reinforced the stereotype in my mind that pubes works better on tall mommy models XD Thanks for putting in the work in your... research lol. I do appreciate it :3

Ahhh that's aight, that just means you're really passionate about the topic... even if said topic is something as silly as 3d pubes XD Perhaps you can send me some examples of top shelf, 3d animated pubes so I can get an idea for it. Tho I'd prolly reserve the pubes for the tall model ladies and leave the younger looking girls shaved.

That's a fair point, but i wouldn't really say the bodies for your models are realistic enough that stylized pubes would look weird. And I've seen examples of 3d genshin models with realistic pubes that i thought looked good. Besides pubic hair is different from head hair anyways, so I don't think them being different styles is that weird. I apologize if it's asking too much, but maybe you could have a poll at some point on if people would like pubes for some characters, and which style they prefer? Just throwing the idea out there.

Yeahhh... The goal was to show off the hallway and Hu Tao (both clothed and nude). And it did take a while to find a specific sequence of actions that'll lead to her stripping down in front of the mirror that actually made sense XD And ngl, I had to reeeally rub my 2 brain cells together super fast to figure it out lol.

Not much to say! Your block in of Hu Tau’s animation was super cute! Loved seeing the transition from her playing with her ghost to finding the room and experimenting. Felt very natural and I’m sure that was tough to work out ✨🤌✨

Nope! The thing is with pubes with 3d models, specifically with more anime-esque models like genshin, is that it's super hard to make them look... natural. Like... if their hair doesn't look like realistic hair but is instead stylized. then how should their pubes look? If I go realistic, then it's inconsistent with their stylized hair, but if I go stylized, then it's inconsistent with their realistic body. So I just go shaved lol Ofc if it's someone like 2B or Tifa with realistic models, then pubes is no prob. And adding a lil bit is kinda hot :3

Ahhh... I also tried the thigh highs on her while fiddling around with her design. Semi transparent, fishnets, or just her socks raised up. And it all ended up feeling.. off :/ I also made a bunch of variant hats and it ended up feeling the same. I guess her design is just too ingrained in my brain atp XD If I had to guess on why that is the case tho... It's prolly coz her original outfit fits her more childish personality, and changing that up to a more mature/sexy design like thigh highs tend to detract from that. But that's just a theory :p

Quick question, have you ever considered adding pubes for some of the characters? I always felt like some of the Liyue characters would be more likely to have them. As a fan of pubes, I'd definitely love to see some characters have them, especially Hu Tao, since she's my favorite.

Ohhhh!... I didn't notice her hair got changed too! They definitely cranked up the eleganto factor on her and shenhe that's for sure XD Speaking of which... Mommy Xianyun came home! haha I did a few yolo wishes and she came :3... Butttt I'm still farming for Navia and Chevreuse to this day, and they all use the same weekly boss material. So I won't be able to raise her for at least a month more! T-T I guess this is what they mean about suffering from success lol PS: I see you rockin that baby ganyu pfp XD

Hu Tao's clothes don't do her justice in game. I remember wishing she had thighhighs when she came out since her assets weren't particularly interesting to look at. I think it does suit her character pretty well though, plus they inspired a bunch of thigh-focused art of her so can't complain. The less conservative shirt and slappable thighs do help a lot though

Hehe warned ya. But I must say your alternative fits her. The Chinese dress is a good idea. Pigtails and everything wich wiggles while moving is hard to animate. I'm glad you find some solutions at least for her clothing. Meanwhile can I shortly expose my love for the new Ganyu outfit haha I love her so much and now with the new hairstyle ahhhh. Also little Ganyu with her Tail omg. Sry back to texting about your work but I think I said everything on my mind. Nice work and pls take care of yourself too 😁
