Idk if the author speaks or understands Spanish but the song is basically saying " give me back my heart because I'm going to need it later and even if you hurt me, I still want you to be happy" . its the flow of the story, while there was enough words nothing much happen and it wasn't repetitive. also, the flow was smooth and not jarring so you didn't feel it was heavy.

I think its cause of the story itself being stuck in cliffhanger and trying to do the story from multiple perspectives means it hasn't progressed much.
