I was thinking the same thing, but it would be very awkward when Edward sees his exes since he always denies having anything with Alex, even though Alex was the first character he flirted with at the beginning of the story, to be honest.

Get well soon! Also, to be honest, i wouldn't mind Alex and him getting together for real. You could do the whole romcom fake girlfriend into lover cliche, with both of them making fun of the concept, only to end up together.
