Catching up
🕑 Added 2021-02-16 12:16:05 +0000 UTCI'm still recovering from whatever curse I put on my back, trying to catch up with the jobs I couldn't do standing up. Today: a bookplate for Wicked Things volume 1 (there is currently little prospect of a volume 2 but stranger things have happened!)
I have to decide today whether to follow Circus Windows with a straight Steeple story or the Lottie-Steeple-Shelley crossover. I have both fully broken down, I just have to decide which one to spend the next two months drawing. Some days I feel like the crossover is a technical exercise, then I look at the notes and it is very fun and perhaps not what people will expect. Tomorrow I have to sit down and write the script for one of them. Don't worry, neither of them is terrible. They're just different.
The Circus Windows pt 2 PDF will be up for $3 and up patrons on Monday! I finished it last week. Teeth clenched, "smiling" through the pain. Like Wolverine "smiles" on the cover of an X-Men comic.
I found out recently that Wolverine has, for some years, had no nose. This was remedied with a "hologram projector" and the comics have never straightened it out and given him a real nose again. Somebody has to get this news to Hugh Jackman.

Only the trade selling really well will bring Wicked Things back, but even then Max and/or I may (will) have moved on to other things. That's comics! The six issues I did were highly technical writing and I think that with another six, I'd have fixed some issues, but there isn't time to dally on someone else's dime. Let's just say if I could go back in time, I wouldn't do a series about the police in 2020.

Whom at Boom! Studios do I need to email voicing passionate desire for the continuation of Wicked Things
I'm annoyed that I've barely had chance to explore that dynamic properly. But such is life!
I have a little project in mind to reunite Lottie and Claire, though it will be a while until it emerges. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to work with Max on Wicked Things again but my hope is to keep Lottie in business, one way or another.

Lottie & Claire are my favorite dynamic, if I have to fund WT2 myself I'll do it :P
It would be wonderful to see more Wicked Things some day, in some form. I'd love to see more of the Lottie/Claire dynamic considering they were kept apart for much of the first series.
