Pure got 5 new skydome textures (for Windy, Few Clouds and Scattered Clouds weather).
Extended fog settings
Real distant tracks (tracks with real distant geometry, which have no faked distance objects) can now benefit from a much better fog look. Most of those real distance tracks are already tagged and working with the new code. Track modders can add the lines:
[PURE]
FOG_SHAPE=-1
in the track configs, to tag a track manually.
Further, the fog engine was improved, to produce better backlit! Colorful skies in foggy conditions looking much better now.
Further work on the Pure ppfilters
All Pure ppfilters are updated. PureEYE got much better godrays.
PureHDR-EYE was recreated and got 2 sliders to adjust the picture to the HDR monitor.
PureCandy is a new ppfilter with much eye-candy postprocessing.
All those ppfilters got an advanced Autoexposure mode. With the new version of Pure its possible, to dynamically mix Cubemap based exposure (CBE) and YEBIS autoexposure (AE).
This will give the ppfilters a much better adaption to the current visible scenery, but they are still solid in their controlling, to avoid those known and realy bad AE fluctuations.
The default Pure ppfilter is a little bit brighter. This filter is still a safe but boring filter. Its used to have nearly no clipping in colors.
If you experience a too bright picture, please check your AE multiplier ingame (Page-UP/DOWN keys). It should be 100%.
Preparation of future CSP features
The upcomming CSP version will have a new function, to improve the look of horizontal textures and materials (the landscape), which are litten by a low sun. The sunlit look gets weaker and weaker, the lower the sun stands. This was a problem since the start of AC. The most common workaround was, to gain the sunlight. But this causes overbright vertical textures (like billboards). Pure is using that workaround too. But with the next CSP version (no release date planned yet), this problem is fixed. The feature called "Lambert Gamma" and will bring a drastic improvement of evening and sunset sceneries.
Please use "Pure Config" app to check all needed settings !
Pure 0.115 needs at least CSP 1.76 public.
For skydomes you need at least CSP 1.78 public!
As always, for rain you need CSP preview versions...

Those high-res texture should only have an effect on the VRAM. But you could try to set the textures quality to 1 in the skydome settings. Then only the lowres part of the texture is loaded into VRAM just like the standard textures of the base pack.
Could it be the high res skybox causing it? Is it better to use the normal skybox?

Olá Peter! funciona na csp 1.79 preview
After installing Pure 0.115b with the high res skybox i took a huge hit in frame rate (coming from A3pp). any ideas why? I am running VR on a reverb G2 with a 3080. I went from 90FPS sustained on SRP down to sub 45.

Try to extract the 7z to your Desktop and run the pure_install.bat again.
I followed the install guide, and when running the install exe guide, I select the AC root folder and then nothing happens. There is no pure weather script in my CM. I tried to run as admin also just to be sure

I have installed your pack and ran it according to your instructions and AC keep on crashing a few minutes into the game ??? Any ideas?? Its runs just fine with SOL 223

If it is set to one ore more faces per frame, then maybe just the check has failed. So don't think about. I will try to improve the check function....

Hi Peter! Great update as always! I'm having trouble with the Pure Checklist. I keep seeing "Reflections frequency is set to static" even if I change to "One Face per Frame" on AC Video Settings. CSP 0.1.79 preview5 and Pure 0.115. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

You need to update CSP to 1.76. That's the minimum version.

Did you read the install guide? Did you extract the 7z file before running the pure_install.bat?
i installed pure and it doesn't show up in my weather script just sol shows up

Every weather script works in VR. But Pure has some special features to work much better in VR then other weather scripts like Sol. With its skydome feature it draws nice skies, but saves fps and with Pure you can deactivate PostProcessing, which brings many fps back, but you still have an exposure adaption, so you have a good brightness with VR.

Please open Pure Config app. You see there a little check list of needed AC and CSP settings. I guess you have reflections deactivated or you set it to "static". Pure needs working reflections, because they are used to calculate the needed camera exposure...

A personal modified version of Phillips Filter v10. Used to be on the PpFilter discord server but that has been closed down. I would like to specifically modify only the sun size or brightness of it. I don't want to reduce the glare section in the ini because it changes everything that has a glare globally and I like how the headlights and taillights illuminate with this ppfilter. Probably me being stubborn but ideally in broader terms, having a ability to adjust specific types of lights to be however bright you want without affecting it globally is the idea here.

With the upcomming CSP 1.79 it will look even better. Pure 0.115 has already the code for it. The lighting and the landscape look at evening and sunsets will look much better then.

Skipped on v0.102. The addition of the skydomes as well as high res textures has made Pure insanely pretty! I was completely stunned as to how dynamic it can look. Combined with the way superior lighting this is actually at a point where you can run Pure instead of Sol the whole time. I am stunned by the look. Great job mate. Oh also the performance is smooth as butter. 50 cars mutliclass racing on Le Mans, all settings on max, with lots of lighting going on and it looks perfect without framerate issues.
Hey Peter. Any ideas if it is possible to adjust the size of the sun/moon? I have noticed that my sun is blindingly bright when ever the time is 20h and going back to sol and to pure the solution for me is to reduce the size of the sun in sol config. However the option is not present in Pure config. I do see options that affect the sun like light.sun.level and light.daylight_multiplyer but it does not resolve my issues with the sun.
Bring it on :) I dont know about others but with Pure I do now get better FPS than with SOL and the visual transitions are superb. Its hard to explain and maybe just me but there is now also the genuine sense of a common light source, with SOL the cars never quite felt like they were lit the same way as the track environment. Anyway when you initially announced Pure I was sceptical of what could be improved and I was wrong !

Nice to hear! You will be very lucky with the new Pure Planner. It will have a much better interface too and more functions, like live weather...
Even though I have been keenly experimenting with all the Pure previews to date I have remained with SOL2 as it looked great, was complete and did exactly as I wanted but this is the release that makes it instantly obsolete ! The combination of the slick and user friendly interface, full set of sky textures and unbelievable new godrays and more means there is no going back, Peter you are a godsend, cheers for all the continued efforts :)
