A sneak peek at the future of Pure

With the latest CSP versions, the integration of own shaders is possible. In the last months, i digged in the basics of shader coding and build in a dynamic shader environment into Pure. You already see it in Pure Config app (with the rain haze shader). This gives me a fast testground to try out things.
I started to dig into voluemtric clouds shaders. In the last weeks i experimented with found code and expanded it to AC/CSP needs. I optimized it to achieve good fps. This volumetric clouds code is very flexible and it is possible to have smooth transition from less covered to full covered skies without fps losses.
As you see, it is at its very beginning and much things are missing. But i passed the mark, where i wanted to find out, if this is even usable in AC/CSP. So yes it is usable and it has an impact, but only on the GPU.
So this clouds will replace Pure's 3d bilboard clouds (render method 0) in the future.
The current 3d clouds have a decent hit on the CPU and GPU. So in th AC world, where all the CPU is needs, this is not the best way.
With the new shader clouds nearly all calculation load is shifted to the GPU and the CPU is nearly not involved. This will fit the needs of AC much better.
So if you asked yourself, what is done with your money you invest in me: It will be this and other nice and new things.

You should realy try the 16k pack. It will not influence your fps. The 4k pack is just for users with realy weak GPUs with less VRAM. Storm and lightnings will come later. I want to do a completely new and much better graphis of this.

Hey Peter, Thank you for your work while paying attention to what happens on average configurations; it is really appreciated! For me with the 4K texture with a "old" 1660 Super vidéo card in 1920*1080, I have got 60 FPS and 45~55 with the rainand the sky is really realist. Do you think it will be possible to have lightning (like SOL) with PURE part so stormy ? The PURE filter is better than the old ones and works well with different car types (gt3, single seater, etc.); which is not necessarily the case with some. Big Thanks !

Hey Peter, is it worth adding a small schematic Display on top of each release of the functionality so that people, younger and older ones, can quickly understand the difference between "Weather Controller" and "Weather Script"? As per my understanding: "Weather Controller" => Sol 2.2.5 => Control, which weather is past, present and future "Weather Script" => "Sol" or "Pure" => Visualisation of current active Weather. With: "Sol" => Tuning and tweaking more or less all lighting parameters "Pure" => Implementing real Brightness parameters... e.g. Brightness of Sun compared to light bulb For all, who want to know more details, look into: "How it works - AC CM CSP Sol" Perfect Description. not sure where to really copy these to, should I copy or cut and paste? they are big folders to copy and have duplicates. Thank you for any assistance. It all working any way so not really sure what Im missing by not having 3.4 planner

With the latest Sol 2.2.5 update. Maybe try to delete the /apps/python/sol_planner folder. It could be it is write protected. Actually the sol planner should be overwritten, if you copy the 4 folders (apps, content, extension and system) to AC root folder.
i have 2.2.5 script installed and running
yes, my in game planner is still 2.2 but working well, not sure how to get 3.4

Thats the weather controller version! Sol weather script is at version 2.2.5 and Sol Planner is at 3.4, which you see if you open it ingame.
Hi, all is working great but I am now running 2.25 and yet the planner when in game still showing 2.2 not 3.4, any ideas. Thanks
