plus we, well Snus does, don't know if spark is an organ. That organ might just allow access or communicate to the spark. OR the spark might just be a byproduct of working with the flow, kinda like an electromagnetic field.

The grand chief

I'm more concerned on the fact that he and his cronies are the only ones who know about sparkless artifacts.

Diego

So, Bragge is searching for spark-less artifacts. Erf has rules out Bragge having found Life (although he may be mistaken...) but there's also the possibility of him having come across with the remains of the original colonization of the planet. I'm sure those remains would be something Erf would very interested in getting his hands on.

Snus

To a degree, wer and wermages do have "slightly" thicker skin and runed armour is "slightly" tough. In terms of killing murks yes gunpowder would be deadly rather quickly. Especially with the new steel tech capable of withstanding higher pressures.

Snus

I wonder....(actually i don't but thats spoilers)

The grand chief

wait, hang on. If the spark is an organ in the human body, how are creatures capable of absorbing them? Especially since the local wildlife has a different amino acid structure, it should be unable to process the organ.

The grand chief

gunpowder weapons would actually be pretty effective. Even earlier flintlock weapons were capable of going through 1 guy and into the guy behind him. If they aim for the head or the heart, it would be an effective weapon.

Snus

Yep, this is Erf most sensible goal for now.

Grayvisc

If power of spells are driven by knowledge of mathematics and ability to visualize through formulas….a nanite wermage would be beyond awesome.

Snus

Moreover, a nanite wermage alone is gonna be hax

Snus

All valid reasons but they need prepwork to get started. A single cannon would need quite a lot of metal and the gunpowder production needs to be there. This is something that might be viable within years but not right now.

Melggart

I was thinking, gunpowder might be too disruptive (calling too much attention) and small guns might not be too useful against wermages and creatures, but how about filling an arusak-at with cannons? Or making a smaller one capable of carrying a single cannon filled with grape shot? I also think I remember Sofia talking about ship with murk crews, if they had cannons with explosive rounds....

ShadeByTheSea

plus the main goal is to get nanites into them without killing their spark.

Snus

Erf left her no chances...

kaalveiten

RIP to that nanobladed wermage who died confused as hell in two pieces.

Snus

Erf specifically mentions sheyda having two livers and being different than wermages. He came prepared for a wermage. I can't spend too much time discussing every detail or the pace gets bogged down again and again. A lot of delays in this chapter were me writing yet another detailed explanation and deleting it outright because rather than fight, he is busy talking up a Silmarillion in terms of lore.

Snus

Well Albin can't stay away from such a juicy chapter! he wanted a cameo!

Snus

Well as Erf said it doesnt mean a definitive thing but it is a trail he can follow. whether he could use it himself or just enhance his wives is another thing.

Snus

Quite likely will. as you notices the battles aren't as decisive as Erf expected. they mostly clash and step back.

Snus

Thank you, its been a while since i've written this kinda of action and it beat me instead. Especially balancing the OPs on each side without getting either curbstomped.

The grand chief

i would have thought Erf would have actually checked if his 'sedatives' were actually effective on wermages.

Yoshiii311

Erf talking to Chirp is honestly the funniest thing ever. Also Albin is at it again with those "shaenanegans" of his.

Grayvisc

Wow this was a great chapter! You let out quite a few juicy bits in this one. Including a potential biological organ linked to Spark! Doesn’t this mean Erf may well be able to grow his own? That would be pretty awesome. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Natthaporn Hongcharoen

With the shaman's grudge and Erf's tale during dinner, I wonder if Anaise will survive the next battle.....

Bast

Thank you very much. I really enjoyed reading this... And now I really want to see the Albin's reaction...
