Bailey hit most of my favourites of last year, with just a few key exceptions: -A Real Pain, I loved it, and connected immediately to the anxious introvert on a trip with an overbearing, slightly thoughtless extrovert. -Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, loved it, I had gone entirely too long without Wallace and Gromit in my life -It's technically a film of 2022, but it started getting seen in 2024 so I count it, and I didn't love any movie last year the way I loved the absurdist genius of Hundreds of Beavers.

Practically anything that wins Best Picture gets some controversy these days. And Wicked... I dunno, I have also said that they overmilked Defying Gravity instead of letting it have momentum, and people do say it's poorly lit*, but overall I really liked it, and feel some people let Madame Morrible into their hearts. *If anything makes me okay with Jon Chu not getting a Best Director nomination, it's him saying he washed it out with backlighting to make it feel more realistic, and I'm sorry, wanting "realism" in your musical about the magical kingdom of Oz is a failure of vision.
