I’ve watched a few retrospectives on it lately (think it was the BBC4 one that aired) and other than Noel visibility faking a passion for it all, the clap crowd/Prickly Heat-esque dance opening sequence is DEATH for the format.

This era of House Party is the most fascinating to me, plodding on in the Lads Mag era with CrashTV booking, throwing shit at the wall every week, and Noel's desperation coming out in every scene. I mean, he starts by promising it's gonna be a great one and closes by highlighting they're "unpredictable!" For a while around this time, Noel's catchphrase was "IT'S DIFFERENT EVERY WEEK!" "Please stop taking E's and watching Chris Evans. I promise Blackburn's not in it *that much* this week!"

Loved this. No memory of just about any element of it other than the Gotcha and NTV either, so everything feels like when the House Party must have hit that period wrestling did when nobody talked about it at school anymore.
