I honesty wasn’t feeling it while shooting it either. DC just doesn’t work. It would be much better released as the real thing instead of a drama about some fat loser who drinks too much and thinks his apartment is haunted. Haha. Some things work and some things don’t work and this is a doesn’t work situation.
Not going to waste anymore time on it. Moving on to edit ADR. I thank everyone for their honesty here. I appreciate the compliments too. Just need to think of something else. :-)

God Dan, if you experienced paranormal activity in real life like this I don't know what to say. You gotta move out if its that haunted! I'm a huge paranormal buff with focus on investigations/equipment. I'm really looking forward to watching this. Feels very real like a live stream almost, I like it! Sorry about Dice. Your pal/moderator on reddit/youtube Mark.
Jesse Pollack
Creeps and Monsters is hands down my favorite DB project and I’d kill for more.

I'm just some rando from the internet, so take it for what it's worth, but I think your best work is documentary involving a human story. Margie and Scott, Interviews from the Edge, and Aileen Wuornos. Your Dead Mall work is great but your ability to befriend people and get them to open up is exceptional. I know you said that such interviews can be depressing and you're worried about exploiting those people, but I think it's a line you can walk. Food for thought. I'm a visual artist, and I know it takes a lot of courage to put your "sketchbook" on the internet, but I personally love seeing experimental stuff from artists I follow. Youtube is terrible for that but Patreon is perfect. Love your work, Cheers Dan.

Hi Dan! I thing it would work, if you would focus on the pov experience. Like in the dead mall series, when the viewer thinks he is walking in your shoes. Please try again!

I’m sorry it didn’t work out. I like the premise. While I thought the execution was underwhelming, there is still potential there. I’m glad you shared it with us.

Thats not the same thing. Babette Bombshell is starring in a new Troma movie called "Curse of the Were-Deer." Theres even a movie about twinks turning into "were-bears", as in fat hairy gay guys. Now I want some hot sexy big dicked were-donks
Arizona Freedom
Yes, i also think documentary style realness is best .

@Dan: I absolutely agree with you. OR perhaps with all the footage that you have from the Belvedere you could easily turn that into a 2 or 3 part documentary series. Not just about the paranormal stuff, but about the building's history too. I would actually love something like that. We've already seen a lot of the material here on Patreon - but with a documentary angle the material would be put in a new light.
SwedishChef1977
Move on to those 2 projects you had written a synopsis for - if I remember it was the potential 2 new episodes of Creeps & Monsters. In all honesty, you're a natural born documentary film maker. Documentaries is what you need to be doing, if I may say so. You always exceed any expectations with your documentary stuff.

I wasn’t quite feeling it, but I could see the potential. Thanks for putting it out there and sharing the idea with us. Maybe it will be worth revisiting when the time is right.

Pinocchio.

I have to second this - Dan has an incredible knack for real-life paranormal content, and him abandoning that format would be like the Beatles abandoning the White Album just because a bunch of shittier bands were on the pop charts that week.
Shavon Favela
Don't stop this idea! Roll with it! Fuck anyone who says otherwise! 🖤❤️🖤 I'm a long time fan, Dan. Don't stop doing what you do.
Andrew Libby
I liked it. But while I was watching it, I was pondering whether the whole thing could be shot in first-person from your point of view. It was the third-person shots of you that seemed a little rushed, and the stories might be scarier from first-person anyway. Maybe that would make it even harder to produce, though. Idk, luckily for the world I’m not a videographer lol…
Chelpea
Please don’t scrap the whole concept. You know that one Belvedere video you released? Maybe you can make a series. You can go more in depth with the history with some real footage sprinkled in. I ate up the Belvedere series you put up on Patreon like a year ago. I know you don’t want to be “another ghost guy” but the way you produce your content will naturally put you on a different level than the others. There will be no comparison.
Chelpea
Agreed! Great spooky documentary
Jesse Pollack
This would honestly be an awesome idea - a full length documentary about the hauntings at the Belvedere featuring interviews with other tenants, past and present. Dan could touch on a variety of things like the Rey Rivera story, his personal experiences (just imagine the sequence with phantom furniture audio), and the ghost stories and rumors being shared by people who live there. It’d be like if a documentary was made about the Overlook. It’d be a great way to put all the negative shit behind him once he moves out.

I liked the idea of DC and anticipated it, but you know your work better than anyone, and what you want.
JdoubleU
I think too much time was spent on drinking vodka. That scene dragged out too long. The concept is great but needs to be defined a bit more. Maybe explain to the audience why you are filming on your phone (because weird stuff is happening and you need proof/feel too alone/in case something bad happens to you it’s documented), Don’t abandon the concept - just shelve it for awhile. You could live anywhere and film it. And you need to be the main character.
Karen
I’d still love to see you tell the tale, but maybe in a different way. You’re very interesting, you being the ‘star’ isn’t a detriment. You do have a lot of disturbing real footage collected, maybe a documentary interspersing interviews with yourself, Dillion, other residents and things like the tripod falling video. You could put out your experiences and how they impacted your drinking/mental health without trying to recreate it.
Louie Caponecchia
You know what I wanna see that nobody has done? A Were-Donkey.
David Zamot-Byrne
I think DC could work as a drama if it was more of a story told based on the experience at the hotel. Something like man records his time living there and slowly goes insane due to what paranormal activity. It's probably done to death already but I think Dan could put an interesting spin on a concept like that.
Dan Bell
see that’s the problem. if it isn’t trapped and terrified...i haven’t pulled anything special off. see?
Dan Bell
you’ll agree with me.
Dan Bell
If i’m not feeling it...I’m not proceeding. this project would be better as a scripted film with actors. i would be able to make pop. this method of cell phone footage and me being the star...meh.
Diesel
Did you watched Spuk in Hill House? 😄 That kind of spooky shocker catched me 👍
Celeste mares
Ugh Dan ! What are you doing ! All your loyal fans would want to see ANY content you drop!
DJ Metzler
Awww. This is too bad. I liked it. It’s not “Trapped and Terrified”, but I really liked the shadowing and maniacal laughter at the end.
Louie Caponecchia
I didnt even get a chance to watch it yet 😔
