You're a kind soul Dan. I hope you continue to take better (emotional) care of yourself. Sadly, some people will see "an opportunity" with a person with such a big heart as yourself. Hopefully, nobody gives you any guff over getting emotional on these more private Patreon streams. Hope you are doing very well.

Dan, you clearly have a really big heart. It is not right for people to try to make you feel bad for setting boundaries and no longer assisting them financially. I'm sorry that you experienced that. I just got out of a very similar situation where I supported someone for years and finally cut them off. It was really hard. They tried to make me feel like I was screwing them over, but they are an adult and responsible for taking care of themselves. It's ok to take care of yourself and put yourself first. It is not your responsibility to support other people or rescue them. Much love.

People like you because you are real. You are a real person behind and in front of the camera. You don't pretend. That said, how can you take care of yourself properly if you have to take care of everyone else. There has to be a limit, or there won't be anything left for you , your work, or anyone else. You do you.

Dan there is a difference between helping someone and someone just mooching off of you. Its not your responsibility to pay someone's rent every month. If that person is ok with that then that is not a true friend they are using you!
