I used to think antiques and art were just oId peoples points of conversation. I also believed cool art came from 50% off sales at Hobby Lobby. This was all before Dan and Dillon’s Antique Roadshow. Now I feel compelled to search for antiques and art and spend hours researching artists and their works. Now, does this mean, me, a man once broken and lost is now a man of culture, one who sees beauty in items of the past, collecting dust on the shelves of the small town mom and pop store? If not, then at the very least, I’m just a lost cause with a new obsession that I’m not so sure is financially safe. I almost bought a $600 pair of fireplace andirons, I don’t even have a fireplace. I only wanted them because they looked like dragons.

Cool find, Dan. I collect early to mid-century ceramic planters to put my flowers and herbs in. I picked this habit up from my great grandmother and one of my ex-girlfriends. I also have a beautiful ceramic parrot that is a wall hanger, that's about 120 years old. Its in perfect condition. Nobody appreciates this parrot but me, and I really can't understand why. So I really appreciate people like you who see the value in and take care of old, fragile things. Not many of us around these days anymore. : (
