I've lost a bunch of google photos and videos, which I assume is the same back end as youtube. It just says "processing" for a few hours then disappears from every device. Really frustrating.

YouTube is fucking garbage right now. Trying to moderate a busy channel is basically impossible right now - adblock is fucked, they stuck a dumb heart reaction OVER CHAT, it buffers constantly and drops off. Trash. I mod for a regular livestream and it's just been the most brutal experience lately.

The problem with migrating to another platform is that you have to get everyone to move over there and then they need create accounts if they want to interact or send donations. That's a huge undertaking for the general population and youtube knows this. It's an interesting dilemma because the technology behind streaming video is not that complicated. The problem is that it's a huge liability because companies can get sued for what users are streaming on their platform. So yeah, basically the lawfare technocracy has made content publishing (of the livestreaming) variant more complicated if not nearly impossible.

I second this. It's as easy to use as YouTube (from a viewer perspective) and it seems to host livestreams well. It has a weird collection of users but since when has a weird collection of people kept Dan Bell away? 😂
