I unfortunately saw this sad outcome for Uplands a mile away, especially since the Gundry Asylum suffered the same fate back in 2021:( We do such a piss poor job of preserving historical buildings in this country! Most are either unceremoniously bulldozed or left in a derelict state until the arsonist’s torch reduces them to ashes. No doubt the cookie-cutter development that likely will be built on the sight of the mansion will be bereft of any of the architectural qualities that made Mary Frick Garret Jacob’s summer home so appealing. What a damn shame!!!

Damn. I was actually hoping to go to Baltimore and see that place for myself. I'm only a few hours from there. Guess I missed out on the chance. So sad to see it go.

I hold the city responsible for not doing something with this mansion. Both angry and sad about this. I wanted to visit sometime while the weather wasn't too cold.
