If you want them to follow you, if there is a them, learn some tunes from the 1900s to the 1930s and just kinda hum as u walk. I if there is anything there they will be attracted to the sound of their time. I would also suggest instead of saying hello, is someone there, make a sound etc. try to start asking things like “do you need help, how can I help you.
