There is also the part that while it's understandable that Fillie doesn't want to be left out, a teenager should feel safe and not worry about the end of the world. That's the job of the adults. And especially Fillie, considering her past, has earned a break. So giving her the filtered, abridged version is the least they can do.

Keeping schoolgirls out of Doomsday planning was good sense. Even though I could smell the author wanting to get them involved. There is a very good reason world's powers don't allow high schoolers in crisis meetings. I would have legitemately dropped the novel for such a sharp breach of immersion.
