Fun fact - in Old Czech language (about 1855) , the word "šukat" was used in the sense of "move and clean (in the house)". In present Poland language "Szukaj" mean "search".

Thank you for this lesson! It is so vivid that it was a bit hard for you, but at least I will know that someone said to me smth unpleasant if I heard this :D You know, the Belarusian and the Czech languages are a bit similar. I'm from Minsk and soon will be in Prague, so I started Czech A1 intensive course. Once in the lesson, during a very basic exercise, I was going to say "We are looking for a job". The word "job" is "praca" in Belarusian, so it is very similar to Czech "práce". But I didn't know the word "to search, to look for", so I replaced it with Belarusian. So I just told my tutor: " šukame práci ". My tutor was laughing and told me not to replace all the unknown words with Belarusian, because I can get in a bad situation. It Belarusian " šukat' " is "to search something", but in Czech " šukat " is far from that :D

Janek blushing and getting all embarrassed made my evening - so adorable!
