I know what you mean about not feeling like it's really yours. Sometimes when I write a song I feel like it was sent to me. Kind of like I was just was lucky enough to be an antennae tuned into a secret beautiful idea that was already floating around waiting for someone to find it. I can't wait to hear your new album and I'm proud of you for your constant dedication and authenticity. xoxo, Joy

love this kina <3

🤗❤️

I often feel as if we now live in a world of too much, too big, overly complex...Simple Gifts by Aaron Copland has been on my mind a lot over the past few months. Your music, your kind gentle spirit, these are simple gifts that are so appreciated.

Earlier this year I accidentally wrote a couple novels, despite never having been a writer or even taking classes. Well, the first one was the true accident: My first ever attempt at online role-playing turned into a story because the main character wanted it that way. It was as if I wasn't the writer, but instead was taking notes about what the main character was doing on his own. I knew nothing about constructing a plot, and had no desire to write fiction. Yet a kidnap mystery popped out, fully formed. The story ending seemed to make a sequel impossible, yet a month later one started arriving, and was larger and more complex than the first novel. I haven't really learned much about writing, but I've learned quite a bit about the creative process. I'm an engineer, and I'm used to MAKING things happen. In my writing, I have to get out of the way and LET things happen, and be patient when the words don't flow. After 5 months of peace and quiet, my main character has just started nagging me to start the third novel. It's weird, and even a bit frightening, since he hasn't shared much about where he'll be taking the next story. I have no idea if songs have similar creation processes, but one thing I feel must be shared is the need for patience. I'll never ask things like "How's that song going?" or "When will your next album drop?". I know your music will arrive when it's ready, and if the past decade has proven anything, it will certainly be well worth waiting for.

Oh, miss Kina, I’ve had those nights too...funny how melancholy inspiration can feel when you really just want to rest 😉 I hope you were finally able to get some shut-eye! While I’ll admit I have definitely appreciated your more elaborate videos (I still show people In Your Arms and your cover of Cheap Thrills 😎), what I’ve always loved most is just you being genuinely you. I think one of the things I was most struck by was how you would individually handwrite the names of all your top patrons on some of your older videos. I know there are way too many of us now to do that (and that’s a great thing!), but it definitely endeared you to me, and so many others - I’m sure - in a huge way. In any case, I’m SOOOO excited to hear the next new song from the album - you never disappoint ☺️❤️🎶 Many blessings to you guys! Say hi to Jesse for me - he’s such a cool dude 😊

The pieces of art that you create (songs/videos) that I love the most are the ones that are just simple, wonderful creations that clearly came from your heart. Yes, sometimes your higher-production stuff are so fantastically amazing that I can't help but absolutely love it (your Chains cover is a perfect example), but your simpler videos always have so much love and heart stuffed into every single one (your Say Something cover and The Keeper w/ Marie' Digby are so magical and incredible!).

Yes, we got to let ourselves go sometimes.

..hmmm :)

Excited as well. ♥️

Thanks for being the conduit!

Sometimes the more simple things feel more natural :) I like your recent webcam outros for example
