my goodness what a time we find ourselves in. so much to feel, so much to learn, so much to do, and yet so much we still cannot do given the state of the world. these are such trying times in so many ways. important times, too. i hope you are managing to stay safe, healthy, and centered as best you can.
i come to you today with a bit of music and an invitation.
the "song" i am sharing is not so much a song as a stream-of-consciousness vocal meditation of sorts. the other day when i was in need of some healing, i sat at the computer, and unable to really do much else, i hit record, held a chord, and sang whatever came out of my mouth for a few minutes. i then played it back through my headphones and sang over it again... and then again... and thus was born "f major". this is obviously a very different creature than the music i typically create and i hesitate to even call it a song, but it did manage to bring me a little peace in the process of making it (and since upon revisiting it) and that felt like a worthy enough reason to merit sharing it with you all. i hope you can find a bit of peace in it, too. (and if you don't hate it, perhaps i can share its siblings "a major" and "e major" with you someday.)
and of course, the invitation. join me this thursday for our june coffee date hangout. i've opened it up to all members of kg records as this feels like a time when connection and togetherness and taking care of our heads and hearts seems more important than ever. you can visit the event page to begin posting and voting up questions for the q&a, and if you can't tune in live, you can always watch the recording after the fact.

Hi, Kina! Thank you so much for the thoughtful answer during the coffee date! I unfortunately couldn’t join because work is consuming all my time. And although late to that party, holy wow this is an amazing track. I would love a whole album of this! It’s beautiful and is lovely to meditate to or loop in the background for some calming presence. ♥️♥️
