I think previous Fenwick was more of a force of nature. In some way I liked it more

I will admit, I think I was convinced of the possibility of character development for kitty during the pirate ship arc. It's conclusion, however, left me with the impression that kitty is incapable of change. Thus, seeing him act differently here is no longer "he might be getting better", but rather "he's learning to blend in". It seems as though before that arc, he was cruel due to immaturity and being put in an awful environment. Outbursts of emotion - fear, pain, anger. Before the pirate ship, I saw Fenwick as something of a victim. However, now he has started to develop something of a philosophy which is built to be conducive towards his preferred actions. When he became mature enough to understand friendship and REJECT it, he went fully villian. Which can be fun too, in a Warhammer 40k sorta way.

Kitty and Emil have such an interesting, toxic dynamic. What kitty has done is -by all definitions- completely unforgivable by anyone of any species. But Emil has accidentally tied his entire worldview of positivity, forgiveness, and general shounen-protagonist beliefs to this irredeemable horse that is Kitty. If Moleman gives up on Kitty, his entire outlook and belief system falls apart and he actually will have to face the consequences of just letting kitty do his thing. It's too late now, kitty is just too hard to deal with at this point in his progression. I think Emil realizes it to a degree. Notice how despite the level disparity Kitty could *not* be found by their party. If Kitty wants to, he can just disappear into any population center and become literally person with his suite of espionage skills. So while he rationalizes Kitty's record-setting murder spree as if Kitty is a dog pissing on the carpet. Deeper down on an emotional level I think he realizes there's no more stopping Fennrick. Just trying to leash him to be less overtly evil.

TFTCs, although, I'm surprised mole hasn't brought up the sole human that he killed.

😂 I also throughly enjoy the murder, the "spook them stiff" tournament was one of my favorites.

Dracobear

The whole thing with kitty and moleman has me feeling conflicted, on one hand, kitty is growing, on the other, he seems to be worse than ever, in a way theat feels like he will never change, and that moleman is just lying to himself to keep trying

Guizmo_Unicorn

What a nice friend Moleman is... Wait a second, everything is going great, go back to murder 😡 Thanks for the chapter !
