Development Update 1 - Public Q&A
🕑 Added 2018-08-13 19:27:01 +0000 UTCSo the preview for High Life has been out just over two weeks now, and in that time we've received an incredible amount of positive feedback, messages and comments. It's been really fun to share the game with you all in this early stage, the support from everyone has been overwhelming!
The full first episode is well underway, and has a lot in store for you that we think you'll love.
In the meantime, in this post we'd like to answer a few of your various questions and respond to your ideas and comments, so that you have a better understanding of the game and where it's headed.
When is Episode 1 being released?
We want to make Episode 1 stand out in terms of content, so don't expect the finished game straight away. At this stage it's too early to give an exact date of release for Episode 1, but we're hard at work and on track. $40+ Patrons will receive Episode 1 four days early. All Patrons can find new development updates in their Patreon feed every Monday, as well as game previews throughout the week. We will also share public posts like this one. As we get closer to completing the episode we will share a release date with Patrons, so stay tuned!
When Episode 1 is released, the preview will also become a free demo for new players, so that they can try the game before joining.
What will the pacing of the game be like?
High Life is about a teenage girl's development over the course of her last summer before adulthood officially begins. She’s hoping to embrace the flood of new opportunities, friendships and emotions that transitioning to university fosters. As a result, our plan for High Life is a long term one. Love interests will blossom and die, setbacks will confront her and Eleanor will grow emotionally as her world changes. There will of course be significant naughty events, but the gripping and immersive story is the focus.
What are the Bonus Scenes?
Every Episode will include extra content and bonus scenes exclusive to $20+ tier Patrons. Patrons will help us decide what those scenes ought to be through polls. The preview is free, and doesn’t contain any extra scenes.
Will there be multiple choices?
Yes. Some big decisions will be introduced in Episode 1, though you won’t start to see the consequences until Episode 2. Eleanor will slowly change her attitude and her actions over the course of the game depending on what decisions you make. Ultimately these decisions will result in multiple endings depending on how you played, so choose wisely!
Minor Updates
Some of the small gripes players have found will be changed for Episode 1, which is why we wanted to get the preview out early. Things like wait times and single-option choices have been reduced.

Hello I would like to know when the episode 2 will go out if not very great game with beautiful graphics.
Wow! Sounds like there's alot of Eleanor's story to look forward to. As long as you keep going, you have my support. Can't wait to get into E1!
Hi Jeff! Episode 1 will be Eleanor's final school day. We've planned her story from her final day at school to returning from her first term at university. The game won't follow every day of that time, just segments of it. We're estimating around 12 episodes, but that's just a rough idea at the minute. 2: We have a couple of conflicting love interests in mind, but it's too early to share them, for now...
2 Questions - 1: How long have you planned in your minds for Eleanor's story to be? 2: Will Eleanor get caught up in any love triangles/squares/pentagons etc?
Tempted to ask what kind of scenes, but I suppose it's best to wait haha.

I agree with your statement about the pacing. The naughty stuff won't be nearly as hot without the gripping and immersive story building up to it.
