How radioactive are bananas and other radioactive foods?

I would like to put things in perspective with my own video. Time to show that even the most radioactive Brazil nuts are not even close to being the most radioactive and edible you can find in a grocery store...
I will also test the pulp and peel of bananas separately. One of the parts turns out to be by far the most radioactive!

Thanks as always :) Have patience with the gamma-ray spectrometer. The 'budget model' I am looking at costs $2000, so it will be a while...
Great video as always! I can’t wait to see when you get your new radiation detector
Nice. I did not know they use beta detectors. I thought they would look for the 1460 MeV gamma rays. But the beta radiation is slowed down after a short distance, so I guess it is better for pinpointing the right spot :) Thanks for sharing!
Well since I have my new job this is quite easy for me. I work at a salt mine with up to 50 % K2O content in the salt. The K2O content is measured with beta area counters for first evaluation.
