Me too, but it's impossible to get and I don't want to know about the price. I also have a feeling that the carbon nanotubes would be blown off by the intensity of strong lasers x)

Hi, I bought mine here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Powerful-635-638nm-Focusable-Waterproof-Orange-Red-Laser-Pointer-Torch-638T-500/113459622691 Sold as <5 mW, labelled as <500 mW (may get seized by US customs?) but mine is over 700 mW... The beam quality just is horrible as mentioned. Even the simplest key chain red laser has better beam properties :)

Where could some one find a red laser like that one? I’ve tried google but no luck.

oooh, just had a thought, possibly fuelled by new year beer, but bear with me! If you sprayed the inside with paint again, put in a handful of dry sand (just any old sand, dry it in the oven, even salt might work!), turn it round and round so the sand gets stuck in all the paint, let it dry, then give it another spray of black paint to cover the sand, do you think that would make a good dispersing surface?

Happy new year to you too! Very good result! You could reduce the inner glow with some baffles inside. You could drill a centre hole in a few of the spare end caps you have, trim off the excess overlap plastic and push them inside, but you'll probably need to protect them with metal as you did with the front to save them from a direct hit from a misalignment of your larger lasers. I did a similar thing with some cheap photographic lens extensions and it improved contrast no end. I wonder, is that black anti-static foam material ICs arrive in non-flammable? If so, some of that on the inside walls would kill the reflections perfectly.
