So, this may just be me... but that opening scene with Tough Girl Tea and Mafia Dad had me thinking of Into the Spider-verse, where Officer Morales went full lights and sirens just to make Miles say, "Dad, I love you." This is the complete inverse of that, so how I made the connection is beyond me, but yeah, there you have it.
