Honestly I can say I do all of them. I take my punishments, and try to learn from what I did. And I always admit when I screwed up. And while this hurts me in the short term in the long term it helps.

I admit to being young and stupid in my teens and early 20s. Part of it was a "let's show effort by going full bore and with reckless abandon". Another part was that I was lazy. There are so many things that I look back on that I would've done things differently knowing what I do now. Some of those actions, if changed, would have made me a husband with kids and working in a different state; be close to retiring from the Army after putting in 20 years of service; or sought help a lot sooner to help keep my depression under control.

Indeed. Sometimes it's best to just admit that the opposition against you was so brutally strong you couldn't do anything about it. Admit that you were not strong enough back then. But look back on these experiences. Remember that you stayed as a good person, although the opposition tried to make you sink to their depraved level. Enduring pain will make you truly stronger eventually if you stay true to your values. 🕊️
