Glad nothing happened to you. Even tho most people drive responsibly, there is always some idiot who doesn't get that first priority when driving, after your own safety of course, should be the safety of others. And the ones suffering most when you drive stupid are usually the victims of an accident and anyone rescuing.

Fuck idiot drivers man. I see them too often anymore. Either drive safely or do the world a favor and stay out of a vehicle driver seat. I just try to watch out for other drivers around me and drive as safely as I can whilst avoiding the idiots.

We can drive safely, but we need to assume someone else is going to do something stupid and try to anticipate it.

I like just driving around so naturally I drive by plenty of accidents(mostly nonfatal), in my experience most are caused because someone did a big stupid and totally ruined their own and mostly likely someone else's day

About two months ago, I was driving to work in the morning, and there’s a four way light stop I go through every day. One morning, I had a red light, waited for it to turn green, went when it changed, and about half way through, a really bad speeding car almost hit me. I didn’t see it until the lights of it hit my eyes from the side, and before I knew it, the car swerved around me and was going on the opposite way on the highway.

See, I own a dog. If I need to go uptown (small town, not city) I just walk the dog. I only need to drive when I'm on the Highway. In Canada. I will drive for 3 hours and there's few turn and no obstructions....... until you hit the Rockies anyway

I am the niece of someone who was hit head on while they were cycling at 8.30am on a Sunday morning. He was 45. My uncle'sworst injury was that his brainstem was lacerated, which means he was brain dead for 2 days (Sunday-Tuesday) before the machines were switched off. But he also had at least 1 broken bone in every part of his body. Arms, ribs, legs, eye sockets teeth, you name it. There was so much fluid in his headit was coming out of his ears, nose and mouth. He had to have a cotton pad taped over his right eye because it was being pushed out, making him look awake and freak out my cousin. He was just being held onto for us to say our goodbyes. The boy driving was 24, three times over the legal limit and speeding wanting to get home to recover from the night before. He was due to start a new job that week. He was going so fast my uncle's body landed 10-20 feet away from the site of the impact. The noise my grandmother made when his machinery were being switched off was like a gravely wounded animal and like a howling wind threatening to lift the roof off your house. It will haunt me until I die, he was her only son and the glue that held our family together. Please don't drive if you mind isn't 100% focused, keep some funds for a taxi/uber/bus. Even walk if you have to, if you do you could save a family an insurmountable heartbreak without even knowing it.

As a legally blind person the idea of driving used to excite me back when my eyes were pretty good. Now I get nervous because my Mom always talks about how crazy people drive in our area.

I'm glad you're safe. As for driving safely... yeah, if only I could. My Mother always talks about how crazy people drive in our area like it's a race track and people are always on the local news complaining about how insane driving is in our suburban area. There's been car accidents to people driving into poles. People up the street have even put up a sign that says "Drive like your kids live here".

This is why I’m only learning to drive now. At almost 23. I have horrible anxiety and it’s very hard to not cry while learning how to drive. I’m in empty parking lots with my mom. And I’m fighting tears. Editing this to make a little more sense: when my mother was pregnant with me. My umbilical cord tied into a true knot. And I had a stroke. So I have a lot of mental issues that made it so that I couldn’t see myself driving. And now that I’m getting more confident and that I know what I wanna do with my life. I gotta learn how to drive.

Glad you're safe This message goes double even for State Troopers or Regional police: If you got to get around someone, Don't just ride their bumper before flipping your lights on and speeding around them in the middle of the night, you're asking to get into a wreck.

I get being in a hurry, but not when it puts people at risk. Cars are enormous, metal, engine-powered death machines when handled wrong, so handle them RIGHT and drive safely everyone.
