As an asexual male, I can assure you that people respecting a "No" without: Crying/arguing/manipulating/co-ercing/etc is a praiseworthy thing. Aces of all genders are (far more than you'd think) subject to people taking the "You just haven't found the right person/had *good* sex" to extremely unpleasant extremes. I am speaking from lived experience as well as that of other Aces I have spoken to.

I don’t really see it as praising a guy for saying “no” as much as praising a woman for respecting that “no”. Although I agree that it’s unfortunate that such is so notable.

I feel where you're coming from and I appreciate you for having the gumption to make a post like this. I know that showing mad respect for the guys pov here comes from the right place. That said, that we see a man saying "no" to sex as being worthy of great praise, is really reinforcing the same archaic gender roles and sexism plaguing our culture for generations. I dont think it's right to praise a man for saying "no" to sex any more than praising a woman for the same inalienable right...
