No, but seriously, folks. Don't have a relaitonship with a narcissist. Don't date one, don't have children with one, don't have one as a friend. They are a drain on your resources that you do not need. They will never apologise, never sincerely care about your feelings, and they'll just run you into the fucking ground.
Don't do it. Stay safe. Pay attention to the flags.

I was raised by a narcissist (my mother) and an alcoholic (father). They made me believe for the longest time that my sole purpose for being born was to take care of them. Both of them are gone now, but the damage done has been next to impossible to repair. Often I do think of ending my own life, seeing as the only purpose I had was fulfilled. I am going to therapy to try and fix some of the shit, while trying to overcome some of the other shit. It's not easy, and honestly, I'm not sure if I'll ever come out of the other end.

A terribly frightening idea is that many narcissists will be stuck in that place for their entire lives, over and over levelling everything they try to build and never understanding why... Imagine living that hell... No wonder they do so much damage. I pity them, as a balm for my own rage if nothing else. Like the bully amends audio above: pitying someone, like forgiveness, is not really for them. It's for us.
