🕑 Added 2024-01-25 21:00:26 +0000 UTCI "graduated" from therapy today. This doesn't mean I'll never go back to my therapist, but for now we've decided that I don't need to check-in with her. I started working with her at the end of 2021. Two years of pain, growth and hard work. Thank you for everything, Annika.
This woman went above and beyond for me. She called my doctor for me. She got me emergency sleep medicine, antidepressants and made me a safety plan. She saw me two-three times a week for months. She talked on the phone with me, answered manic, hopeless cries of desperation with firm, reassuring guidance. She encouraged me to work through my pain, shame and true feelings of despair.
She was a stranger who helped me.
And now she is someone I will never forget.
Thank you for everything, Annika.
