Bear Y idler tensioner
🕑 Added 2019-07-30 13:34:43 +0000 UTCI am working on Bear Upgrade 2.1 and it will come with a better Y axis. This picture is a Y idler tensioner.
Some features:
- 3mm of adjustments like on X.
- Use a single tensioning screw to keep the mount straight and make adjustments easy.
- The movement use a small rotation but the height of the belt vary only by 0.042mm.
- Will be compatible with E3D idlers.
- Belt path is different than on Prusa but will be the same across all bear frames.
- Hardware needed: 3x M5x10 screws and t-nuts, a dowel pin (same as the X axis), 1x M3x25 screw, 1x M3x30 screw, 2x M3 nylock, 1x M3 washer.
As the belt path is slightly different it will need a new Y belt holder as well. I am planning to improve a little bit the Y motor mount to increase stiffness and reduce noise.

I shared a zip files in the comments but keep in mind this is not compatible with Prusa Y axis. The new Bear 2.1 will have a totally new Y axis.

Printed, installed, fits my custom Y belt holder like a glove. Not a big difference in functionality compared to the previous tensioner I was using, except for the tightening bolt being above the belt instead of under it, which is a plus, but it looks so much prettier :) Now I can't wait for the entire 2.1 update :)
